I must just be missing the point. I don't see how having a huge head shop convention in Vegas does anything toward "gaining acceptance of medical marijuana and this 'hot-button' politcal issue" anyway. The guy who stated that "potheads don't buy a lot of booze and gamble", is right. Who cares about Vegas anyway? It's just a huge degrading dump run by the mob. And calling for all these misdirected boycots for every little percieved corporate snub is just stupid and only serves to weaken the cause. There was no reason to boycot Starbucks, they have no anti-pot policies at all. That was just some store manager being an asshole. Now if a rally was cancelled in Frisco or on a campus or something, I could understand the outrage. But IMHO this is all just trying to spark a flame in unwarranted territory and does nothing more than weaken the resolve of those who might be on the fence about taking any action to further the cause.

I see no mention of marijuana use at this convention. Would it happen elsewhere? Probably. But your comparison is like saying a convention for prostitutes is unacceptable, particularly when the Adult Video (aka porn) awards is held right there in Vegas every year.

The majority of people don't smoke their tobacco out of "waterpipes" just like the majority of people don't grow their own hydroponic tomatoes.
The public isn't stupid. They know exactly what is going on. It's the naive stoners who think they are pulling a fast on on the public.
Not a big fan of the letter of the law, are you? No mention is made of marijuana use at this convention and glass pipes are 100% legal in 99% of the country if they are clean of resin. The convention itself is doing NOTHING illegal. What people choose to do outside of the convention is their choice. As if there would be no marijuana use in Vegas without this convention. Yeah right.

Speaking of Mandalay Bay, anyone seeing 311 (the band) play there next month for 3/11 Day? I'll be there, ready to throw a joint up to P-Nut during Offbeat Bare Ass. If you were at the last 3/11 day in New Orleans that was my joint in P-Nuts mouth, Mandala #1, which I grew myself. Needless to say, it was a pretty good day for me! Sorry for gettin' off topic, otherwise, FUCK MANDALAY!
