i erroneously thought that the aussies were more benevolent to their abo's than we amerikans were to our indians. not so. and for no reason either, at least in america we can blab that some indian tribes attacked us. (yeah, after how much provocation?) but i have never heard of any abos taking up arms against the white man.
shocking yes, but totally expected. still time for that shit to stop. is it still going on? i was in oz a month, i never heard a bad word about abos.
Marquis, it depends where you go, and what circles you hang in. I live in the North which is kind of like I gather the South is/was in US terms. Plenty of racism here from all sides. When I moved further south, I didn't even see an aboriginal in two years, so certainly you wouldn't hear a bad word in many areas because some white people simply have no contact. Just so you know, the term "abo" is considered offensive, it is used alongside the N-bomb on the posted video twice.
They very much fought back against the invaders by the way, and so would I if I were them. They had some awesome weapons too! It's sad they were not more successful. Regardless of who attacked who, genocide is still genocide.
There will always be issues here that won't go away, because it's an impossible situation to fix (in my opinion), a couple of hundred years after the fact. I think the closest we could come is to have all sides realise the terrible things that happened were primarily carried out due to government and religion, like most of the crap being done today. Peace all.
