why do i have to toss my tea if bennies fight bad bacteria?

So I had this bad case of root rot in my ebb and flow system and had to plant everything in soil using organics to help fight off the disease. plants are doing good but I spent the past two months reading about root rot, beneficials, sterile rez's, and so on so I can have a successful hydro grow.

My question that I can't seem to figure out is, if I am using a brewed tea to colonize good bacteria, then why after 7-10 days do I need to throw it out? I know that it goes "bad" so what I can't understand is why the good bacteria isn't fighting off the bad bacteria leading to the eventually throwing out of the tea? I would REALLY like to be able to use Earth Juice in a organic hydro set up, but I keep hearing it's impossible because of the organics breaking down forming bad bacteria growth. Is there a way from my tea going bad? Thanks for advice given :D
