Read this morning that Questlove is doing a documentary on Sly and the Family Stone. Saw them at Pirates World in Dania Beach Florida in the summer of 1970. Between the bass and the organ, you could literally _feel_ it thumping in your chest.

Just looked at a bunch of videos of them doing this live and just like Santana doing Soul Sacrifice at Woodstock, this is simply the best performance they could have ever done of this tune:
