The Aussie flora and fauna thread continued

Yeah, like you say, in this day and age! We have the big ones but not these.
I guess they'll continue to survive ... there's still a lot of forest left.

It's hard to believe we are still discovering new species of mammals - but it just happened! There are now two more reasons to love Australia. Meet the newest members of the 'Greater Glider'. The greater glider is a possum-sized marsupial living in the forests of eastern Australia, squeezing into tree hollows during the day and at night soaring up to 100 metres through the air searching for its favourite eucalyptus leaves. And due to the fact that these fluffy little fur-balls are on the 'extinctions' list, makes this find even more remarkable.

Officers on the water searching for the then missing Andy.

BRISBANE - 69-year-old Australian Andy, who lived in the middle of nature in Queensland with his Dutch wife Erica, has been eaten by crocodiles.

The incident took place last week. Andy had gone fishing off Hinchin Brook Island, but never returned. When it started to get dark, Erica became more and more concerned and called in the authorities that same evening. After a major search, Andy's boat was found the next day. A saltwater crocodile about three meters long swam around the boat. Andy's boat was six feet. He hasn't had a chance, ”a relative of Erica tells RTL Nieuws.
