I am building this for a friend.
my house is very small and on the 4th floor.
so I have to build it all in pieces that fits together.
it is so big it won’t fit trough my door.

i cut it all by hand, down in my even smaller and stacked basement closet.
up and down with the elevator with my cut pieces and drawings.
the last three months I had a lot of up and downs, so to say.

I turned my house into a workplace, the computer section with all my plans and calculations
made an order list of a 1000 parts and build a wall shelf for Al the parts.

my coffee table,( inside is a pre grow room) was turned to a cutting table voor plastic mirror foil and insulation.

and next to my own grow cabinet is my lab. Normally I check my grow with video magnifier and experiments happen here.
I had to change it into an electro section with the solder group and wires connectors and bits and pieces.
the video magnifier I use all the time with the small electro components and my aging eyes.

my kitchen and stove became slowly a paint section, and making a cup of coffee took some care.

to make some room for the build I cleared the floor and moved it into my bedroom.
and there is a narrow path from my bathroom to my bed.
So an night wee is an slow moving process in the dark.

A very funny experience this project in my appartment.
but I love to create it and turn my drawings into a real machine.

ive been doing this for many years, and build hundreds of special inventions.
some were for expo like tefaf , or tv or movie production
Videoclips and commercials and party’s art department
art and store designs, private interior and construction I’ve done it all.

but now time has changed.

my bones are grinded and after 50 what years I could not walk or stand anymore.
many operations and long time rehabilitation the last 3 years we’re baby steps.
and I mean falling and standing up.
there is no hope for better, and I have to take it easy.
very easy.
and after 3 long years of not touching a pen, scared to design something you can not create anyway.
feeling sorry for myself.

the pain is crazy, every day
I need my medicine to get thrue the day
and night for shore.

one of my friends wanted to buy a small pricy cabinet.
he showed me a picture with size and price.
I looked at it and told him he was mad.
so as a challenge I offered a friend to build him a cabinet that I will design.

for the first time since long I took a pen.
and here we are.

my love for the weed makes my build something again.
and every day i feel a little better.

right now I am in the last fase of the build.
i will post next coming weeks to complete it.
and test it.
and show the results.

thanks for reading.

Hi custom creator sorry to hear of your ill health.i hope building your cabinets help you focus through
the tough days of pain.your build looks amazing your friend should be very happy.all the best Jock420

The eye of the storm.

I wanted to design a pressure fan house with a slight compression, damper, sensors en wiring.
Where you can see into and trough the fan damper grid.
mand see 2 fans moving.
with special build in lights so that I can pull that trick off.
lots of cutting and sanding aluminum and folding and bending to shape.

the stainless base shape wired with sensors has 4 colored shapes which are switched by 4 sonoff 12 v smart switch.

the arm is a 2 part custom slide bracket with a part at the ceiling of the engine room.

today I put this piece together and connected some of the wiring to see it come alive.
to bad I cannot post a video cause it lookes alive.
and the airflow is very high but extremely silent.
I can make the connector cable and put it in place.

Silent is key in this machine.
you can stand in front of it.
And see fans spinning and plants moving in the airflow.
it bubbles and mist in the hydro and pumps are running.
but you cannot hear anything.

It's pretty amazing to look at. I have to admit, I don't understand what most of it does but respect your creativity and work ethic. Can you give a rough outline of the item costs? Obviously, the person-hour costs will be astronomical but curious what that cost was compared to what the "expensive" thing the friend wanted.

The rough outline of total costs ?

it started with the question about my friends smoking behavior.
And the price of weed here in the Netherlands.
he works hard plays hard so to say. Works in the movie business. On the road a lot.
and smokes pure weed with his water suction bong he bought in L.A.
it burns pretty fast I must say.
his burn rate is 150 grams/month
weed price is 15-20 € / gram
so 2.250 € a month for weed alone.

so if I calculate a machine to produce that on paper.
I need to make 3 x 150 gram for a harvest minimum.
to produce enough weed for his burn rate.
450 gram / 3 months = 6.750 €

so that’s what I did
if my calculations are right, this machine will produce that.
and the rest is up to his attention and care.

so I guessed that a investment of that amount of money would pay itself back by first harvest.
and I build devices to last, and all parts are easy replaceable.
so that’s a no brainer here.

total cost of all material, from wood to screws and hydro till mirrors, smart switches, wiring stainless everything.

all material 4 K

But I have to say this.
you can do that for 40 % less if you buy oversea.
we bought online next day delivery.
wich did not come anyway because of Covid.
so buy cheap and build this for 2.5 K

I have build more of these devices from different materials.
This is just one option.

work hours are 300 and counting.
but that is for my situation now, building in my tiny appartement with no electrical gear.
trying not to make any noise in the house.

in my usual workplace the pace of things is so much faster.
you cannot compare to this home build.

but in an ideal situation. I can build this in 100 hours.

Also I choose to use individual components for everything
not a one in all control kit.
its like a big electrical board with all parts in a row.
you can take out each piece and replace it.
(use gloves because it is all on mirrors)

never Fall out during a grow.
if one part will fail like a smart switch.
you can switch in 5-15 minutes without opening your grow room.

The new owner is on the road a lot, so the system can be controlled from his phone.
anywhere he checks his grow like you normally do in the room.

Check the roots and temperature and colour .
see the level and the bubbles rise.
pump in or out the hydro to box to level.
or pump in new pre mixed essentials.
You can turn on the clean program and uv b c unit kill bacteria.

look around in the grow room cam
and look direct to the plant or by mirror to see every angle in the room.
zoom in to see details and plan training steps you need to do when you are back home.
make a Timelapse and predict a forecast train plan.

Control everything on your phone .
Led licht Kelvin level and intensity level.
colours and healing with green and yellow,
flash with and ir and uv
Control the cob saber frame with the deep red en blue level
See the diffused led walls to reach deep inside the crop.

Plant temperature, shape colour, check the leaves for burnt tips or spots, you can even go on the hunt for a glance at a ladybug.

make fans spinning or look at the electric room
and see all the parts working.
leds are changing as the program reacts to all sensors in the units.

all in two boxes with both six sides of mirror.
a magic never ending world of floating in air equipment.
organic and electronic in harmony.

see the turbine working and know that where ever you are.
the neighbors don’t smell your grow.
the cleaning lady can work in the room it stands in.
and she will never know.

and if you want a friend to do some training while you are at work.
you open the doors on your phone.

This week is wiring and more wiring.
but we are making progress.

using hardcopper 2.5 mm wire.
cooled and strong safe electric panel.
all wiring at the back of the cabinet.
hotglue for safety and transport.

All to keep the inside of the grow compartment without any obstacles. A clean box.
and cleaning can be done absolute and with ease.
