Looking good from here.

Um. And you’re going to have some serious colas to show for your work!

Raw pits eh... I wonder how these would marry up with chem or cheese family lines. I wonder if Chi did a cross of the Dom and Chemdbx and didn’t tell anybody haha

Thanks brother!

They could be happier, but once again I am having better luck under this COB panel.

Yeah, puffing up nicely - they have surprised me. Hard to say since they are at that stage where they should start bulking up, but a few days before the pics I watered with a weak seabird guano tea… they seem to have responded favorably.

For #1. And as of now I can say she's more rank than the C4DD I grew, which is saying a lot. #2 & #3 are quite different. It’s early yet and I am going out on a limb here, but I think #1 might show some purple in the end… possibly end up looking like a Purple Skunk type.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he did! Gotta admit to a good deal of curiosity about one of Chimera’s most favored and long held girls… good enough to do four (that we know of :)) half-sibling hybrids with. And over a good number of years. She must truly be special. Not to mention rather old school. :dance013:

I forgot to mention how good #1 looks.. Trouble free compared with the other two. Let’s hope she has the best smoke also. Just won’t know until you sample them all.

In comparison she has shown herself to be more forgiving but is not without her share of blemishes. But overall a fine specimen that I bet would really shine as a dialed-in clone. I am impressed with her - and hope she does smoke best.

A cut of each was put under the QB this morning. Should be interesting to see what happens. I may top them so that I can keep them at a distance that allows me to run the light at full power.

I am really looking forward to sampling these. If I remember correctly The Dom is supposed to be super stoney. Hope some of that comes through.

flaws and all...

flaws and all...

She could be happier, still, she shows promise. If not moving the girls’ positions around, I at least rotate their containers regularly. Tonight on a position rotation I was removing them from the tent when #2 about knocked me over...

Was as if she was laughing at me for thinking #1 is the true stinky... cut the pilot light yesterday, PPM halved overnight. They got a little boost on last watering. Straight water going forward. I have a feeling she will not be finished in 10 days, though, LOL.

Grabbed some pics while she was out for the rotation.

Getting nearer. They are drinking considerably slower these days. Turned the light down yesterday at day 49. Wattage draw is 230 and PPFD ~ 650.

So much for my purple prediction, lol. I think I made a mistake with #1. In trying to remedy the deficiencies I was seeing in #2 I treated #1, and #3, to the same. Raising the pH really helped #2 and I saw no further progression of what had appeared to be a calcium deficiency. Won’t know for sure without another run of her but I think #1 preferred the lower pH because after raising it she started to have issues. I think #3 benefited from the pH swings and has really started to show some color, hopefully not too soon. #3 was starting to lean so she got staked. #1, even with her strong frame, was trying to tip when I removed her so she got staked too. Tonight I am going to shave an hour off the light cycle to push them along but still looking like nine weeks for the earliest one, which looks like it will be #3. But maybe she’ll really speed up and be done by Sunday at 8 weeks. Either way I will be checking trichs next weekend.

Here they are at day 50:

#1 or #3 for the win..

They all look good but the fluffy tops of 1 & 3 are winning me over. Looking as if they’ll swell quite a bit more :)

Hey now, don't be so quick to rule out #2 :)

But yeah, irony at play. #3 is clearly finishing better than #1. But shame on me. My policy has always been "do not cater to", but this LED nonsense has me all ass-backward. No other excuse for being protective of #2 (other than secretly she's had my eye all along) and trying to cater to her, while also stupidly doing the same to a plant that was doing fine, as well as her sister - who looked like she needed a hand as well... But she seems to be the real irony: the girl that rooted her pot fastest, drank like a fiend, and often made me think she wanted and needed more than I was giving her ... looks like she may finish strongest.

Hahaha.. It’s ok to have favourites and I’m no good judge having not seen them in person ;)

They look like classic representations of the line but all with their differences. I hear you about the led confusion. I’m being very very careful in playing with mine. I turn it up ever so gradually from time to time. I think I’m only on a tiny 90w from the wall.

Like Jahaze says, they look fantastic:)

Beautiful plant. Good run Shmavis.

She is a looker! Thanks Jahaze, but she did all the work. Not only pretty but tough too.

Hogwash! I was inspired to post her up last night to show that you do have the eye! :)

She has long been my least favorite mostly due to her frame. I really don’t care for the longer floppy lower branches. I would usually do some trimming up around week four but wanted to leave these natural to see what they’d do but also to see how the light penetrated. The cut of #2 has much better branching than the seed plant and does not look as though it will be such a cola-dominant plant. But once again under the QB things are off to a bumpy start. Ugh.

I only turned the COB all the way up for a couple days. It was shortly thereafter I saw the issues with #2, and while I do not think they were related to the increased wattage, I did not want to tempt it, so never did go over 380 watts and was shooting for no more than 800 PPFD because after watching one of the videos you suggested (thanks for that!) I got the impression that over 1000 PPFD might not be a good thing; and at full blast and at their distance it was around that number... last weekend I only took a half hour off the light schedule and then last night another one so running 11/13 still at 230 watts...

Took a lower of #3 today to sample. Checked trichs on it. I will be chopping her next weekend if not midweek at day 60. Will have to see how much she's dried out.

Did you say you kept some pollen? Do you think these will go well with chem genetics?

Thanks fellas!

Hey west-eu, nice to see you around again brother!

...

Did you say you kept some pollen? Do you think these will go well with chem genetics?

In terms of what? Terp profile? I don't have enough experience with Chem lines to really say... I do have some pollen. And made enough seeds that I could always get more, lol. To that point, I noticed yesterday they were starting to rattle in their pods and saw two on the tent floor so harvested seeds from #3 this morning. #3 will come down in a day or two, she’s close to being dried out. Took temp down to 78º and humidity below 40% about a week ago and it’s helping dry ‘em out.

Oh, and I do have some Chem 91 Skunk VA S1s... so maybe someday might be worth seeing what comes of such a pairing. :)

Yeah, I guess I mean terp profile.
I have experience of smoking Stardawg and Chem D but haven’t grown any of them.

As you’ve grown out a couple of VG’s chem crosses, maybe it would be a good match for those?

In that case I think it just might result in funk on layers of funk - all on top of more funk.

I am not well versed in proper terpene terminology; hell, I often struggle with likening the finer notes to generally known real world comparisons. That said, VG’s C4DD was, if not the second stinkiest I have grown in many years, then in the top three. It was upfront loud/stinky in a similar fashion to dirty sweaty gym socks - but dialed way up. But flat regarding anything in the background. The nose hit hard but didn’t really give way to any subtleties, whereas Schnazz #2 pheno #3 when harvesting the seeds provided plenty. While it does stink, it’s not as loud as C4DD, and without trying to provide comparative descriptors for background notes - which are complex - I would say the prominent upfront side of her is an acrid citrusy funk. Enjoyed some excellent finger hash last night that I had collected from her!

#1 when last checked still had more of a raw body odor/skunkiness to her, so she may yet end up being the stinkiest. Will get a better idea when it’s time to harvest seeds from her and #2. Both of which still look like they have a ways to go yet. Doubtful they’ll be ready this weekend at week ten going by looks, but plan to check trichs nevertheless.

Really looking forward to sampling these flowers!
