Hey family!

What is the most purple strain commercially available today and from which seed breeder?

I've bought several supposedly purple strains in the past but nothing really turned that deep, royal purple I was looking for...

Blueberry muffins did have some nice colors, but it wasn't entirely purple on any of them, more speckled here and there.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Great question!

There's a lot of purple strains out there. But some of them also have green phenos or need cold temps to go purple or are only partly purple...

What's a good strain that's reliably purple from seed?

Purple 1 from Dutch Passion has almost 100% purple phenotypes. Unfortunately, high is average.

Thanks for the replies, my friends.

I would have initially assumed there would have been more suggestions, considering how popular purple bud is with people.

My intent is to breed it back with an ak47, if that matters.

How about Purpurea Ticinensis? Or even better the IBL called Purpurea 09 from Helvetic Seeds.

In my opinion, all purple strains have only one advantage - they are purple xD If I have the opportunity to choose between the green and purple phenotype of the same strain, I will always choose green. The green phenotype always gives me a more interesting high. If I have oldtimers haze Ace Seeds green and purple, I prefer green. If I have purple and green PCK - I choose green.

The purple strain that is almost 100% purple, as I mentioned - Purple 1 from Dutch Passion. A lot of Black Cream Auto and Dark Devil Auto from Sweet Seeds phenotypes also have different shades of purple. None of these 3 strains, however, I feel like smoking because it is uninteresting.

Purpurea ticinensis as an outdoor strain probably also does not impress with anything other than just color.

I've had some nice purple weed every now and then over the years so it's possible to have purple color and a quality high at least with my brain chemistry.

Not sure any of them could be recommended as reliably purple from seed in any temperature. But if the goal is to breed a purple AK then maybe that doesn't matter, can cull the greens and select/breed a good purple parent.

ACE has some purpling strains indeed and there are also other Dutch purples than the #1 from DP. And then all the American purples. How about "Ultimate Purple" from BC Bud Depot... They say it's The Purps x Purple Urkle x Grand Daddy Purple x Grape Ape x SR71 Purple Kush. LOL!

BC bud depot has some interesting stuff. I've contacted them on a few occasions about some of their strains, only to be met with very odd replies and a lack of understanding with lineage questions.

Never ordered as every reply was complete confusion. Always wanted to try a few strains there though.
