PTSD, Exercise and Weed

Sugar triggers a cascade of inflammatory reactions in the body. When we eat sugary foods or refined carbohydrates, it causes a spike in blood glucose levels, then the pancreas produces insulin to circulate sugars to be used as energy in our cells. Diets that are chronically high in sugary foods can lead to insulin resistance, a state where blood sugar becomes poorly managed in the body.” Insulin resistance can lead to health issues such as metabolic syndrome and diabetes, so it’s definitely something to avoid says nutritionist Lola Ross.

Our bodies are simply not designed to contend with huge amounts of sugar. “Our palaeolithic ancestors were thought to consume around 20 teaspoons of sugar a year whereas today, with added sugars being so ubiquitous in our food systems, the average American consumes around 53 teaspoons a day,” Ross points out. While exclusionary diets are never recommended, when it comes to sugar, experts agree that cutting down on added and unnatural forms of sugar—not fruit—would do us all good in the long term
I would even go for less fruit in the diet, modern fruit has been engineered for maximum sweetness and contains high amounts of sugar compared to wild fruit our ancestors occasionally ate in season thousands of years ago.

I 100% agree. I haven't been getting enough exercise lately. But I schedule walks with a Friend and we go to parks and walk around. It's been some of the best therapy in my life and much needed right now. I don't think I'll ever be healthy like I used to be but my living conditions have improved a lot this year already.
I'm glad to hear you are getting out and moving friend. There only 2 times a person needs to exercise. When they want to and when the don't want to. Its medicine for the body mind and Soul. Thanks for posting and keep us updated.

So I’m on my own and depend only on myself to do what I need to do to get by everyday. I had to give up everything little by little and change my living strategies to survive.

Sorry to year it. That said I learned something about enduring hardships in life.

My grandmother lived to 105. She had immigrated from Spain and lived through the great depression. She lost her eyesight in her late 90's. She had been hard of hearing as long as I had been alive.

In the hospital she told me how glad she had been to see all those years and glad she had the chance to do so. She didn't regret the loss of vision. She had used her eyes well while she had use of them. She lived on her own til the end of her days. I really left an impression on me. I had a hard time appreciating her perspective until I experienced some pretty tough doses of reality myself.

Sometimes the biggest shit sandwiches in life can be over come with radical acceptance. It would seem it allows a person to relish the parts of life that are still savory. I hope you find satisfaction in perseverance regardless of outcome. In today's technological age there is good cause to have hope that this can be addressed in a satisfactory manner.

Definitely a harrowing situation that would challenge anyone. Challenging situations are opportune times to overcome. I hope you find a sustainable peace during times like these.

I made a nature trail in my yard so I can take walks daily. Since its in a circle I can walk for hours if I want. When things start getting hard, I start walking and focus on impermanence. Everything changes so Its important not to get hung up on anything. Heres some photos where I walk everyday.

I'm amazed at how much my landscape has grown in the past 20 days. The ladder in one photo is a 10 ft ladder next to a one-month-old sunflower. Everything is growing like crazy here and still no mosquitoes. Today's high temperature is 96f-35c and tomorrow is suppost to be 100f-37c. Heres my resting spots. Welcome back, Summer.

I"m still moving everyday and not laying it down. I walk every day and slow-run too. If I walk a lot before the meditation its easier to sit and meditate. When my mind races and won't be still, I will get up and walk and that helps me burn off the excess mental energy. Sometimes I walk all day and still can't meditate and other days its easy. What is the goal creeper?

(Peace with the way it is).

I have one outdoor guerrilla spot, that I've named the field of freedom. It's in remote place, and on the way path takes through old spruce and pine trees to someone's long gone homestead (60-100 years old), there is also old apple trees and remains of big oven that makes the heart of the house, like in our home, principle is still the same. I have been planting some autolowering seeds there and about to germinate more.

It took 10 years and just now that I have been able to really starting to enjoy growing again, I have had my hiccups with prohibition, and as already living with ptsd, those events had deep impact in my life and my sense of security.

I have been living with fear on my shoulders, neck, jaw and hips, deep sense of sorrow in my heart. One day I felt very anxious and ran to the field instead of hiking, letting that restlesness out and yet it later melted to something else. As I was in that open field, I felt the presence of ancestors, talked to them, showed what I was planting, and for them I was planting hemp. Simple as that, there was no need to look around in distrust. The sounds of the forest came alive in different way. Like in a other day while I was there, flocks of forest geese flew over the spot flying low, and I just closed my eyes and that sound that their flying made, it felt like stream going through me.

I have been hiding my scars for a long time,
with internalized shame and guilt, and even not knowing what forgiveness means, compassion resonates,
something I cannot hide,
it feels like stream going through me.

Much love!

Hello Creeperpark, I edited post, because it wasn't finished then when it went. I feel quite fine. I have found lot of wisdom in this thread.
