Popup ads

If I go to a page and get a popup ad, I close the page and don't go back. Of course, that covers a lot of sites. I was reminded of this just now because I clicked on an ad for a seed company because I am interested in the strain. I got a pop-up about another strain which I had no interest in. I resent having some marketing crudling think that they have a captive market which is desperate to view their product and so will process the pop-up first. I closed the tab and got out of there. To heck with the Lemon Whatever.

I know that lots of people use various ad blockers, but I had one ages ago that was problematic somehow (I forget how,) so I just do the manual thing. Also, some stores do popups when you first arrive on their main pages, and I am often able to avoid popups by bookmarking a specific product. For example, my Home Depot bookmark is for a can opener, which avoids my having to close their idiotic main-page popup which advises me that the nearest HD store is across the road from me - which I am quite aware of.

There, I've ranted. :huggg:

I quite understand your point of view. I am a person who can recall the Glasgow/Edinburgh express steaming thru our town at a huge rate of knots. Well, miles per hour actually.

I believe Britain and the US still use this archaic measurement of distance and time altho both have now substantially given up steam power.

You will see then that I easily recall when there was no Inter Web and no pop ups and porn was always dog-eared photographs from Singapore. Well, allegedly from Singapore, but I think that most of we whiteys have a dark thing about Asian people.

Personally I like Asian people. I am even a student of the I Ching. My I Ching was translated from Mandarin by a German. Subsequently another German Scholar translated the I Ching into English without Pop-ups.

PS: The Glasgow/Edinburgh Express was a fast steam train. I used to run up the overhead bridge near the station and the world would shake for a while as the train roared underneath. You see I was very young and had no other drugs.

Hope you have a nice day!

and I just deleted my Amazon account because of their treatment of striking workers along with their many other transgressions.
It likely won't make a difference in the big picture, but if I don't act according to my beliefs, what good are they?

Rumour has it that Amazon will eat the world.

I've walked away from online and brick and mortar stores with whom I'd had an established relationship because they used information they'd collected on me for marketing or other inappropriate purposes and I just deleted my Amazon account because of their treatment of striking workers along with their many other transgressions.

I'm trying very hard to boycott Amazon.

Still buy vitamins & scope mounts from them.
