This is Mya (peahen) and Oringo (peacock) this will be Oringo’s first year with full adult show feathers and he is already testing them out.. His feathers will reach full length for the season in March. Mya is a couple years older and she isn’t too impressed by him, at least not yet…but he is very persistent!

peafowl are beautiful! not real bright though. they know less about cars/roads than possums or skunks.

we had a breeding pair when i was a teenager.
our peacock loved looking at his reflection in the door.
he would get on top of the house. he was cool. and noisy.
the hen died. cant remeber how.
The peacock ended up joining a flock of wild turkeys. we would see him while deer hunting just strutting with the toms.
We got real high one night and started writing a poem/song called "the tie-dyed turkey"

I really enjoy taking care of them. Listening to tunes while smoke a joint, as they do their thing is a simple joy I partake in frequently. My peacock Oringo is always dancing around showing off!

we really loved our peacocks as well! pretty cool animals.
we got chickens last year and i couldnt believe how many smiles and laughs those little idiots brought us.
