Hi all,

In the current state-of-industry, there is an increasing amount of suppliers, tech companies, breeders etc. that are promising 'the next best thing' and are claiming their product is 'the best'.
How is a producer able to distinguish the good from the bad other than serving as a test subject for these products? (be it lights, fertilizer, genetics, IPM treatments, etc.)
Of course you could trust the brand or the marketing, or the reputation a company has in the industry. Some companies have their product tested by universities (in return they must 'give' away some of their IP) while some have started working on building their 'evidence' with so-called 'case studies'. The latter is nice, but rather unreliable to judge the quality of a product.

How would you guys see a solution for this problem? Should there be an independent contract research organisation where these companies can have their technology validated?

Interested to read your opinions on this.

Best,

C.
