Oltimer's Purple Haze 2024 (26fx6m)

Here it is, 17 years of selectively inbreeding ACE Seeds Oldtimer's Haze.

I hand-picked the best seeds from the last seed run, and as I always do,
just throw them all into a big container and let them battle it out for
survival.

Then, I'll choose the best-looking, healthiest few and eventually, I will
end up with about six plants to keep.
This grow will be done in a conservatory in normal potting soil; nothing
special, just some sand and coco for better air and I also always use
mycorrhiza is just the standard stuff from Amazon.

This was the first grow back in 2007:

Appreciated! will look forward to it :)

I want to share why I use Mycorrhiza:
https://www.trifectanatural.com/mycorrhizae-comprehensive-guide/

They found that cannabis plants treated with the highest levels of fungi had an increase in root length of more than 30%. These plants also showed a higher dry weight of more than 20%. These plants also had significantly higher survival rates than plants treated without mycorrhizae.

really cool. Did you grow it every year , by that I mean 17 generation or..?
How is the high on these and did you select away from the "original" high.
Keep on growin
Cheers.

I left out a year here and there. There are too many factors to consider when evaluating the high. There are different levels of terpenes every time.

EDIT: I see, no it's not 17 generations. I'm not sure, should have documented it better, probably 10

If the high changed it wasn't my intention

I did a few grows. I have an emotional bond with purples :woohoo:. I'm thinking about doing something new, though. I grew all kinds, blue mystic, purple kush, purple 1, OG Kush, dutch dragon.

I only ever bred OT Haze. will finish this run and give the seeds back to ACE seeds

I'm eying the Red Kumrat x Nepali Annapurna OR OT Haze x Pulwama Pink

Respect.

I've been doing Northern Lights for 24 years now, so I know you're one of the very few in this forum who understands the plant. I'm not sure how you can grow a different cannabis varietal every year and understand what the plant is trying to teach you, much less to get it to do what you want it to do.

I'm a "lighter" not a "hazer" , but I'll follow this thread... I know I learn something. (y)

I just clicked on the link because I thought it had something to do with OT1.;)

Wow, 17 years is really impressive. And cool to see that some mysterious Purple Haze is still around and not just a myth, even if you probably gave it a lot of your own note due to selecting.

I tried to select for health (immediately visible defects), leaf shape, growth speed and size, and colour. Never crossed it with anything.
A few of my photo albums got lost from the time I wasn't active here in IC

This is a celebratory grow. I will try lots of different things. Some I will put outside, under light, and in the conservatory; some I will let grow, and others I will train. This is the first time it is legal to grow here. I really want to celebrate her this time.
