yes the chargers have built a great team and if they can stay healthy they should have a decent season

heading out for a nice hike and some mild climbing this morning and then out for some fish chips and clams!
/you with me doob?!

Oh it's a trip for sure.so yeah there was thousands of beta tapes but there wasn't any covers so you didn't know what the movie was.i remember when we were kids and my dad randomly found a beta named fairy tales.thought it was a kids movie.well he made a mistake and my 7 year old self saw little bo peep getting fucked! I don't just randomly turn on pornos like a pervert but these old pornos are actually funny and entertaining.and I gauranttee the people that actually watched them are probably dead.it just might be a gold mine.i never thought about making them digital.im sure some people would pay decent money for that.im gonna see if we can find them.im sure some wierdo would pay lol

oh yeah doob! got the fish and chips today
a weird thing here in san diego is a lot of the mom and pop places are closed on mondays!?
i had no idea and we rolled up to the first place and they were not open
we checked out another good spot and they were closed too
weird i thought and did a quick google search to find that almost half the places were closed
we ended up going to this palce called fish district that is a chain and they have pretty good fried fish and chips, they batter their fries and have decent sauces
the mrs got a poke bowl, its like a raw fish and rice thing
/not my bag man
they also did not have clams so i got callimari instead
al in all a decent meal but man im still in the mood for some good fried clams

the insta pot is cool hawk and you will be able to cook up all kind of stuff in it
its like one pot cooking but it cooks stuff super quick and there are tons of recipes on the net
the older porno is definitely different than what you see now
like they often had some kind of story in them punctuated by scenes of f'n
/inserts image, but just the tip

Are cards still a thing? I figured nowadays it was all NFT’s. Although I hear the sports memorabilia market is very hot right now, a special edition lebron rookie card went for over a million and that was less than 20 yrs old. Also someone bought brady’s last TD ball for 500k but then 2 days later he unretired, lol, so it probably lost 90% of its value.

That janes addiction video looks like they had a lot of fun filming that in a grocery store, haha. Shows that you don’t need a big budget and special effects to make an interesting music video.

Let us know what kind of titles you find in that Betamax stash, I can do some research and let you know what theyre worth. Maybe we can digitize them and upload them and monetize them, haha. You’ve always wanted to be a porn producer, right?

Thumbs up on the instapot, Hawk, I think you’ll really like it, and there’s a bunch of recipes you can google for online, just search “[food] instapot”. It does cook in like 20-40 mins stuff that would take 4-8hrs in a slow cooker, but it takes time to reach pressure and then to depressurize so more like 1-1.5 hrs total if the cooking time is 40mins.

yeah man, the insta pot is nice if he gives it to you
the mrs makes thigns like chili in it and it comes out bomb
plus you can make things like ribs and other stuff super easy
there are even sites that post all kind of recipes for them, deserts in the insta pot? you bet
i still hold on to my cards from back in the day
i have tons, baseball, football and random ones thrown in
/did you know there were star wars cards, even elvis cards; these would come in the grab bags we would get from the ice cream man
i bet you can still get cards and there will always be sports memorabilia to be had
/signed helmet would be cool
oh man, dont get me started on the nft
is there anything more uninteresting than seeing some ones selfie photo collection on their phone?!
yes, yes there is
its the nft "collection" they want to show you
this is just as bad as crypto in that its not anything of tangable value other than what they said it was worth
/dosent that mark cuban guy own the rights to a lot of this nft stuff?
at least with crypto its pure delicious greed driving the "investment"; collecting nft just seemed lame to me
at least with a paper card you could hold it and mod out your bike

I think some instapots have an air fryer function too so that’s even more usefulness.

If you have any rookie cards of HOF players (Tim Duncan, shaq, pippen, kobe, etc) then they might be worth something even if theyre not in mint condition. I know the sports card market took a nosedive in the 90s and 00’s but recently I think it’s making a comeback. Maybe something to look into if you can find them and dig them up.

I think mark Cuban invested in some crypto called Iron a few years ago that took a dump and he lost money on but it wasn’t a big investment for him so whatever. But the crypto and nft market has been in the dumps lately so youre not wrong, maybe the whole thing is a ponzi scheme where only the early investors make money and the later ones are left holding the bag.

Fwiw I think established crypto like bitcoin and Ethereum will stick around just because there are marketplaces that accept it as payment and where you can cash it for real money. Even if they fall 90% in value they wont go to zero just because there will always be some business or person or marketplace that will buy them.

The bears’ former Punt returner/RB Tarik cohen tore his achilles during a live Instagram workout a couple days ago. He had a bad acl tear back in 2020, never healed up enough to play in 2021 so was released this offseason. He was starting to feel 100% but with this achilles tear it’s doubtful he’ll ever make it back to the league again. He’s actually been through a lot of other stuff too, lost 2 brothers (including his twin brother) in the last couple of years so here’s hoping he pulls through this.

i saw him go down on a live work out he posted and it looked painful
he was always kind of undersized but had amazing physical gifts
what do you think of the bears run game this season?
rams are looking good at rb and even resigned some guys they just let go? like the wr position they could make for good special teams players down the line
most of teh cards i have are baseball but i have a decent spread of football carfs too
ones like deon sanders rookies and things like that
i will have to dig some of them out and see what i got
its the baseball cards that would have them most value
i had a friend who knew about collecting and got me into the first card thing, where a player might have a card or two before he was a rookie in the bigs
/mark mcguire comes to ind where his first card was with the us olympic team
a lot of those were tainted by the steriod era of sports but stilla lot of fun
i agree that the largest crypto, bitcoin is here to stay
but it will never be a real currency
the boy has his little cabal of stonk bros, they wear fancy patagonia vests and invest almost all their money in the market
/i call them the smart money when i refer to them collectively
they are fun and i enjoy our spirited discussions of the financial markets

Yeah, people were saying it was an achilles tear even before he went to the doctor because you could hear a pop when he lunged forward at the end of his backpedal. And then he falls down and grabs it right away, saying no no no. Just sad, but maybe he’ll get the same guy who did cam akers’ surgery, that dude came back in like 6 months. Wild.

Bears run game should be straight with David Montgomery, who was a top 5 RB at times last year. Still, the O-line isnt strong and we have mostly late-round draft picks to shore it up. They’re O/U for wins is 6.5, and they won 6 games last year, so that sounds about right.

Yeah it might be worth it to go through your old collectibles and cross check them vs ebay or other sites to see what you can get for them. If the economy hits a recession that might depress the memorabilia market so better sell when it’s high now. Then you can take that money and buy bitcoin and Ethereum when they drop 80% later this year. Even if you don’t believe in crypto it doesn’t hurt to make a little cheese once in a while.

It's cool that your son is learning how to invest and make money in the markets, there’ll be some growing pains of course but it’s never a bad thing to be financially literate while youre young, it’ll pay off over the years, hopefully he can invest in the next bitcoin, apple, google, amazon etc early on and make 100x or 1000x his money after 10+ yrs.

he has a degree in economics and i think a couple of his friends do too
they dream of getting into high end jobs one day and are super motivated
no drugs/ drinking for these guys
/drunk pops complains about interest rates and sparks bowl after bowl
i like listening to their taeks, they see things way different than i do but will stand by their arguments and support them with facts and ideas
i might go through the cards soon! the mrs is sick some in just sitting around the house this weekend and it would be fun to check out some old stuff
unless there is a unicorn in the mix im not really looking to sell anything, but it would be fun to rememebr and check things out
you never got into collecting things baba?

what are your plans for the weekend guys?
im going to be nursing the ol'lady but i think there is some indoor football on tv and maybe i can catch some of that usfl

I think a bunch of wall street types are way into drugs (you ever see wolf of wall street? I don’t think there was a drug those guys DIDN’T do, then again it was the 80s), maybe more coke than cannabis but if a sober life leads them to F-U money then more power to them.

I have some old comics from the 80s and early 90s that are in pretty bad shape, nothing I think that has much value unfortunately but they don’t take up much space so I still have them stashed in the basement somewhere. That’s about it as far as my collectibles go.

Ive seen the USFL games on tv a fair amount but haven’t watched much, been mostly into the nba playoffs. Once that goes away in a month or so I guess we’ll only have baseball till aug/sep when college football and nfl starts up.

For some reason I think oysters and mussels are more popular shellfish around here than clams. All 3 are good though, they each have their pluses and minuses. Imo clams are the densest, chewiest meat but smallest of the 3. For a while my favorite dish to order at Italian places was linguini with red clam sauce, but last time I ordered it I swear I could feel sand or grit or something in my mouth, maybe they didn’t wash the clams enough?

i hear you are supposed to put the clams in a fresh water bath and they will expel most of the sand they have in them
oysters are ok but not my thing, i might eat them fried, but i would probably eat anything if it was battered and deep fried just right
the usfl is ok, maybe like div.III ball but i dont watch round ball so its all i get right now
i used to have some comics stashed someplace
i might have to dig them up too one of these days
/what did you have
i liked wolf of wall street as a movie and it was the decade of decadence we are talking about here
the weird thing is, half the people i know and love dont do drugs
like they have no desire to alter thier minds in any way
my mom and siter come to mind; im sure my sister has tried pot at one point but she isnt into any drugs
my mom has never taken drugs in her life unless it was from a dr and even then she wont take most of them
my nephew is totally straight edge but totally cool about it, the boy and girl are the same was, no drugs
i guess i am the lucky one
/takes huge swig off handle of vodka and rolls another joint
im not a very good example i guess but we manage to get by
/micro doses from the cat box

High Times used to mention that in 1985 on Wall Street people were paying $500 an ounce

The film Wall Street is one of my favorites. I'm obsessed with 1984-1985 NYC

Yeah that sounds right, like they didn’t rinse the sand out of them enough. It still tasted good but that grittiness made for an unpleasant texture while eating lol.
I think ive had an oyster po’ boy before which uses battered and deep fried oysters but for the most part when ive eaten oysters I’ve had them raw. They’re alright, texturally they’re kind of disturbing too.

I collected mostly marvel comics like spiderman, fantastic four, avengers etc. Not much DC, although I do have some superman and batman stuff. My whole comic collection is probably only a few hundred issues (300 or so?) so I wasn’t hardcore plus I was choosy with what to spend my money on, what little I had of it as a kid.

Haha, sounds like you're the counter-balance to your family, you're drinking and smoking enough for all of them. But you seem like you still are able to handle your bizness so no one can lump you in with all the screwed up people out there.

Wall St was an iconic movie, is that a Scorsese movie? It's been a while since I seen-t it, dont remember there being too much drug use other than al-kee-hol in there but you had to love gordon gekko: Greed is Good. And $500 for an oz of kind in the 80s, that's like $2K in today's dollars or more.

i remember the olden days and helped pay for most of my schoolin with a little farm in the hills
(never got $500/z but prices were decent for good kine)
i knew what it was like to grow up poor and am still very frugal with most things
wall street was a pretty good movie and its funny how people vilified gekko for his want of money
hey man, if money motivates you to work harder/smarter/ more aggressively than the next guy then more power to you
he did bend a lot of rules but thats what gov regulators were supposed to watch out for
its beena while since ive seen it and might have to check it out again
money+greed=corruption
/no matter what you are talking about its all around us
man, can you believe its almost the end of may? this year is flying by

Ive never had a guerilla grow myself or grown outdoors at all, really. Too bad, I have a bit of a backyard that’s pretty private now, makes me think if the woman would let me I’d have a few plants out there now haha. You doing the outdoor again this year Pop? I remember you had some in some 5g buckets that were looking pretty nice. Soil or coco and organic nutes?

Greed is good in the context of cutting waste, I think Gekko’s speech back then focused on this paper company that had too many corporate executives earning 6 figure salaries but not adding much to the bottom line (sales, profit etc). I guess that’s still a problem now, almost 40 yrs later, in any big company or organization you got a lot of middlemen/VP’s that push a lot of papers but don’t seem to add much utility. It’s the employees at the bottom that do all of the actual money making work.

It's about 100 days till the nfl season starts so yeah, time is flying by. There’s more rumors that the seahawks would trade for baker if the browns pick up a lot of his salary for next season. Sucks to be paying a guy to NOT play for you but that’s not uncommon in sports.
