MMJ and California Courts- Urgent help needed

please help me find all information possible for a very dear friend of mine, who has court next month.

rumor has it, a California medical marijuana patient/defendant has the right to decline answering a state's attorney or judge's request in court, for their condition in which they use cannabis...

does anyone have any info on this, confirming this rumor?

Your Medical Records are protected under the Privacy Act-- However...if it is pertinent to the case, the Judge can court order an investigation, but I believe it has to be through a different Judge, to get an order to Disclose--
