I always keep them sealed up I just take a chunk off for using which I keep in a jar or ziplock bag.Looking for advice on whether to vacuum it back up for another month?
Or is this the time to let it dry out a little bit and get ready for storage?
Thoughts?
Lovely colors on those babies although 37g is a fat baby ha ha.Another cob making Day

I agree the lighter touch is my favorite as well.If it is dark colour I usually try to stop fermentation, but it continues slowly anyway.
Currently my fav is a black cob from '21 but it is not everyday use.
It went for too long after initial colour change, it is hard to see any plant material at all in the mass, just a black lump of... stuff... Smells of malt and chocolate. Judging by reactions to a tiny little joint I rolled for friends, it still works very well when smoked. One person commented that it didn't feel like smoking at all and they were surprised when exhaling that smoke was even being exhaled.
I like longer ferment of lighter colour, by starting drier, as well.
Once I get them to where I think it should be, I vac seal , and store it in the freezer!I always keep them sealed up I just take a chunk off for using which I keep in a jar or ziplock bag.
But the bulk I keep sealed up it retains the flavor better that way even for years.
Thats a new one to me but I cant see it doing any harm thats for sure.Once I get them to where I think it should be, I vac seal , and store it in the freezer!
The point at which this went into the freezer was when it was dry enough to stop fermentation. You got me curious, so I just checked the internal humidity with a tester made for cigars, and the bigger piece tested at 55%. So there might still be a bit of fermentation that could occur after removing from the freezer! I had not, until now, bothered to check that ( because it doesn't matter to me)!Now if you had some of the same aging at air temp in a vacc seal bag you would have a comparison. But i am curious also at what you think of the fermented and then frozen.... must be better than just frozen, and might keep it from going further than wanted at the right moment, but to compare with an air temp one would be interesting.
Lovely colors on those babies although 37g is a fat baby ha ha.
Nice job.
Looks great but you def need strong pot to begin with it wont add power if its not there to begin with. This was a lovely plant back in 2023.
An extra sativa leaning pheno of Moby Dick that was showing more of those early genetics in it's downline.
View attachment 19145787 Smelled just like some Thai I grew in the late 70's early 80's and really evoked a strong weed memory dormant for 40 years!
That started me on the path that led me here.
A dissolving partnership caused me to take her early and she was always a bit weak and never showed any psychedelics. View attachment 19145791 I kept a couple jars of the best in hopes that it would eventually turn like the Thai it smelled like had.️
But it never did.
View attachment 19145788 3 months cobbing with the lighter brick tech Seems to have made a positive change on 1 season old herb without turning it dark/ black or losing all taste/ terpenes View attachment 19145793 Looks great
Classic Gold and Green - 70's
View attachment 19145794 It feels alive - not dead
chewy - it has give - moisture throughout ... even though it's low @ 8%
View attachment 19145795 it's flat, it's handy, it breaks off easily with your hand
Being from the 70's - it's fun!
Big nostalgia... hadn't seen brick weed since.
It looks right, smells right, and it's brick weed!!! What's not to love. View attachment 19145796
Almost minty - a sort of minty on the exhale- That's a new flavor.
There never was any mint on it before the cob treatment.
fresh - clean - limon - mild.
It's lost the Thai smell but its still wonderful, has a more general sativa smell.
It works. But it's light for me.
Clean and light but it was light before.
This is better. more stimulating
up and back down.
1 - 1 1/2hrs duration
Plenty if you're a light smoker.
wake and bake, etc
Conclusion - the 3 month cob treatment did something it seems even though the herb was already cured/ maintained for year. That's 2 for 2 on that experiment.
I have 1 more coming up soon.
It's still missing something for me.
Maybe "not complete" if I was gonna over analyze it. The buzz just seems a little thin. Doesn't have legs.
It does seem to have given a lift/boost though to a crop that was close - but disappointing.
It was great to experiment with.
The whole bricked weed experience was fun.
The dryer - better looks/ taste/ terpenes cob treatments are a plus.
I patiently wait to see how it effects more potent starting material.
I also am aware of the potential for bias on my part. That I wanted this to work.
I do have a jar of the buds saved to compare against the cob.
I'll report back.![]()
