Making Volcanic Soil?

Good advice Jay. If you wish to add some rock powder minerals on the cheap, find a source of bentonite clay. Just check that it is analyzed to be low in heavy metals. You can also experiment with rock powders from creek beds or dried creek beds. I often used the black magnetic sand deposited along a creek path. Just take a fairly strong magnet with you and you can collect it like that.

Only use very small amounts in your soil.
What about red clay? There is red clay by the lake and on The other side of the hill from where I live.

Yeah bud give it a try. my advice would be to locate some healthy looking foliage like a bush, and harvest some material from under and around it.

Im Not advocating digging up a bush or destroying nature. I feel this can be done safely and in a nondestructive manner if done on a small scale. Simply a handful can Really benefit ya on a biological level. 🙃

your native soil will have native microbes. SHWING!!

Red clay MAY be good as a anion.

I have added pumice to my soil before the last run, and will get a bag of soil additive for the used soil, to cook in with some greens. Someday I will get it tested, but where?
