Hello comfy markoth, yes exactly.
after buying them, that's also what I said to myself when I looked again and insistently at the rare shots of the mom used in the cross.
hoping to be wrong...^^

this year I made a few packs from inhouse too, including pkb and remix : all of them beautiful plants but lack of power and taste (diffuse/light compared to the smell)
i also popped 15 of their freebie mix and clearly found other platinium crosses among those, same observation.

I spoke with a "new breeder" recently, who told me that he used this type of plant for breeding but that he fixed these defects by mixing with some tasteful
suddenly, it gives less desire ^^

peyote purple were all like that, frosty as fck but hairy trichs, lack of everything.
May I ask which lights u used ?
A lot of these super frosty strains have very long skinny trichomes. IMO, this is not desirable except for pictures/clout. The stalk of the trichome is waxy and mostly inactive. The majority of the cannabinoids/terpenes reside in the trichome head/bulb. This is why so many of the new ultra frosty varieties are disappointing people when it comes to actual long term smokability. Also why the modern industry is jumping from one gorgeous hype strain to another, without much staying power.

I think Instagram narcissism is taking the cannabis genome in the wrong direction. But we are seeing a pretty good rise in thc levels and it's easier to get clones than ever, so I won't complain too much.
Bro... Serious problem on our hands with those headless trichs... And even more with people who think that skinny trichomes plants are top shelf Bud... I miss the old days so much

Sure, hps bro
i agree the second part of ur post a lot
i'm currently growing an accidental highmac (the pic i posted 2 pages before) x platkushbreath remix 5 (which was another frost bomb), only for fun as i already know the smoke won't make it even if pkbr5 was the "better than others" of that pack
just to show again that frost doesn't mean anything, i won't use it for breed as i want produce my own enjoyable crosses not only good looking ones xD

I must admit I fell to the hype as well, bought a In House Terple in hopes it will be killer, spoiler, it wasn't.
Was able to find 1 slurricane pheno keeper, nothing to write home about him, but the thought that I paid over 250$ for very medicore seeds and genetics and can't even find a keeper drove me crazy.
So I ended up throwing the keeper also as it was nothing strong in any sense just was better then the rest 9 phenos.
I grew seeds that cost me 5 usd and was x10 in every aspect over these hype strains

Money usually won't lie, but in the field of seeds that doesn't apply I guess
Many scammers out there, top seeds breeders are among them more then u know.

Judging what others think is top shelf has no merit. We all are different. There are a ton of cuts I don't like but others love, ill never toss shad on anyone that doesn't like what I do. It's why we love the diversity of cannabis so much. Without trying everything there is no way to judge if it's top shelf from a picture. Those cultivating cannabis since the 70s has a better understanding of what quality should be IMO. It's still gonna be a personal choice. The topic of this thread is all about frosty plants lol.

This BOG Afgh is a gorgeous plant.. I got a 2nd plant that is different.. She had a bubblegum aroma in early flower.. That's changed to more Skunky. I'm not sure where she falls into the 3 choices from this mix pack. I don't think sweet n Sour Cindy has these terps?.
