Long time no post. Remember meee? Anyways, I’m back at it growing some personal stash. A 400w strip light would’ve been plenty but I just can’t wrap my head around going that small, (Weird. I know) so I begged my buddy Shawn @Iluminar for whatever he could spare (2 years ago) and he sent me a 630w CMH and later 2x 1000w DE’s in exchange for some insta and forum posts.
Originally I was going to set up a a single 4x4 tent in my apartment at the beginning of the pandemic but I ended up buying a house and any extra money I had went to furnishings/appliances etc. I finally had some cooler weather and cheaper utilities so I had some cash freed up to start the project.
The goal is to build the cheapest, easiest, lowest maintenance, high yielding, K.I.S.S, LEGAL (6 plant) grow AND NOT DESTROY MY HOUSE… which are all things I haven’t done since my late 20’s…
All my friends were slacking pretty hard on clones so I hit up the Clone Conservatory and grabbed 5 kush mints and 1 bubba x og (yes, I still love bubbakush and hold very near and dear to my heart., Then I hung the 630 cmh from a 2x4x10’ that I hung from chain screwed to studs 10’ from the floor. (14’ steeple ceiling) and started vegging. In 4” grodan cubes.. Once I went rootbound (for about 2 weeks) i ordered a 6 site 3.9gal autopot system. The idea of not being tethered to my res and it being totally passive sounded perfect for my K.I.S.S plan. And it is!!! I love it!! No pumps to heat the water or fail, no pressure regulating… just gravity! Awesome!
I opted for autopots’ air domes and modded them with 3” air stones instead of the surgical tubing with holes punched in it thanks to @Northernscrogger.
Filled the bottoms of the autopots with hydroton pellets just high enough to cover the domes, filled the rest with grodan mini cubes (croutons) and transplanted in to the autos at about week 6 of veg..

This garden was started in early February and I’m currently entering week 4 of bloom since acquiring clones. Playing a bit of catch-up but will certainly get there very soon and all will be current. Thanks for watching!
