Judge Bars Colorado City from Closing Dispensary

In an important decision, a judge has barred the city of Centennial from shutting down a medical marijuana dispensary on the pretext that it violated Federal law.

His decision states: "The city of Centennial cannot use the potential violation of a federal law to order a business legally operating under our state constitution to cease and desist its business..."

This excuse is being used more and more by municipalities to deny permits to people wanting to open medical cannabis dispensaries. Perhaps this will set some precedent, even though it's just a local judge who made this decision.

Don't want Federal marijuana laws trumping State marijuana laws? Then LEGALIZE IT!

This was/is an important ruling in Colorado, Centennial is a very conservative area, and many municipalities have tried the same tactics. Hopefully this will set a precedent.

How refreshing. Laws actually mean something in Colorado!

The people are in charge, as it should be. It's been a long time since I've seen any proof of that.

I'm surprised to see the court backing the dispensary. They should, but it is just a surprise to see it happening.
