Since a large part of the United States has just gotten it's first taste of winter, I thought a thread of pictures would be fun.

Here is something I found interesting, in my garden.
The diameter of this snowy formation is about 24 inches by 12 inches thick.

Isn't nature a wonderful and mysterious thing ?

Yea nice....I hate snow and really hate wind. We had some 65 + mph wind gust with the snow. Its been rather mild until that storm a week or so ago came and brought the wrath of winter. Goodluck guys and stay warm!!!!! Owlmirrior pics is cool and looks like another day in the neighborhood

I thought a thread of pictures would be fun.
Fun idea but the shoveling is hell on this disabled old man. We had 16 inches..it is shrunk down a bit on the railing in this BBQ image..yes..I looked around the neighborhood and I was the only one BBQing that evening. We had 11 below zero and that is hard on the roof as well as the gutter system...DD

DD, looks like you already have some ice dams going on those gutters, your right about the extreme cold being hell on your roof.
We also have to go out and rake the drifts of our roofs about once every couple weeks

Drew there are more than just ice dams there...the roof has 4 inches of ice under the snow layer and the gutters are froze solid...they'll melt today and we'll start all over again..DD
