Seed is ripe! Just giving the resin a little more time to mature. Plants are ready though! Lots of great smells, some are sweet some are a mellow indica spice smell. Been getting regular rains lately, so getting some mold, but mold pressure isn't that bad. I worked the soil a little aggressively when top dressing on one or 2 of them. They had some yellow leaves, but they will be fine. Plants have strong stems, they are staying standing up even with heavy wet flowers and wind! I mound soil around the base of the plants, but these have strong structure if there is adequate light. The really low light spindly ones are less strong, but that's normal.

Enjoy!

Harvest is in! Lots of good smells in the garden. Most are pretty similar but here are some variations. Looking forward to next year's crop with the champion male pollination! One of the plants has purple calyxes and has strong sweet skunky smell and taste. Will be posting more about it later! For more pics and background info check out the Pipeline Garden 2018 thread in the Outdoor forum! Thanks for stopping in!

Yep and hopefully less than that for my indoor efforts! Hopefully I can get some large clones ready for putting out next spring and hopefully also get an indoor flower run finished. I have a lot of prep work though because we have to renovate the new property before I can get into anything secretive(what with inspectors and friends and relatives coming to check it out or pitch in.)

Up and running. I was going to go back to previous generations, and get some older afghans going to breed into the line, but I decided to just plant out last year's best and do some selection. I need numbers to continue the line.

Planted 38 count sativa candy spice pheno, and 12 from the non selected mixed bag.

We had great males last year, so looking forward to watching how these grow!

Welcome to spring! The greatness of our God! :smoke:

Champion DC dominant male on left. I was bummed when one of the big branches broke a few weeks ago. Then I saw it was male and I understood. God had a plan. More light for the females. His mercies and love are more than we can ever know!

Heres the champion male! The sativa candy spice is really medicinal. Just a little bit of it gives excellent relief from pain/fatigue. I noticed when I was looking for seeds from the sativa candy spice flowers, the seeds are always large, very uniform with dark vibrant color. I will have to get some pics.

The sativa candy spice plants flowered a week or so slower. I remember seeing the plants and wondering where the buds were. Be patient. Its worth it. There aren't a whole lot of seeds because the males are culled once the other females are mature enough. With most of the garden being sativa candy spice, I will try and let them pollinate a little longer this year. :smoke:

Awesome looking plants throughout your thread! Deep Chunk crosses look so cool. Have to love those giant broad leaves.

I grew out a hybrid last summer that was 1/4 Deep Chunk and loved it. Afghanis are my personal favorite but mold was a problem for me.

I have a dozen or so Deep Chunk seeds that I've been thinking about popping. I want to make more seeds so I can preserve this rare line and possibly make future hybrids. I'm a bit intimidated by the reports of low yields and mold susceptibility. Are those things a problem for you?
Is it a light or heavy feeder based on your experience?

Yields are good in my experience. I think pure DC has less stretch, so hybrids will stretch more and increase yields. The mold isn't too bad except for the center of the most dense tops. Its a great line with lots of potential! They are quite leafy, but there are plenty of potent flowers in there.

The medicinal qualities of this pure indica are not to be underestimated. Excellent resin profile! Just a taste brings relief of a variety of a issues! Good strain to work with, doesn't bog you down or zap your energy. Its a healing plant! :smoke:
