As title. Wanting to make amends to my base nutrient which has low iron content (0.07% EDTA). Will throwing more EDTA at it be plant available? As I understand it's good for pH levels up to 6 ish..
Can't find any of the alternatives here in good old NZ (story of my life...)
They don't have 5kg rexolin d12 which is their DTPA chelated iron, only 25kg which I really don't want to pay over $400 for. Their trace element packs are all sold out over here too and will ship "later in the year"
Fuck it I'm just gonna cut it 50/50 with this other shit (masterblend copy) which is .56% fe-DTPA apparently. So will be somewhere in the middle which is good enough for me. Maybe by the time I run out of that they'll have something in stock..
Hey mate, for EDTA to be the best soludable and for uptake the PH is best around 8, so slightly basic. That is why EDDHA is "easier" for most uses. Hard to come by probably in NZ. Yara is active i read, but is only B to B.
Thanks iv been useing the kristalon brown until week 4 then realised it lacks iron but i have been useing fulvic acid also haven't really seen any problems i did decided to change to masterblend for the remainder of the crop to be safe, iv ordered 11% dtpa chelate for the future
I also had P issues but I'm unsure whether that was a result of low pH as it has similar P level to jacks and no one complains about P deficiency. I'm just gonna run the two together until I run out of the masterblend copy then amend the kristalon with iron and see how that goes. The iron and phosphorus are both higher in masterblend, so I end up around .3% iron and 6.3% or thereabouts phosphorus instead of 4.8
Kristalon is the only cheap bulk fert I can find here in New Zealand. The masterblend copy costs more for 3kg than kristalon does for 25kg. So even if I have to amend it further it's still pretty cost effective...
It's a bit of a laugh rolling in to the farming supply store with dreads and a weed leaf tattoo buying 25kg sacks of nutrients with cash haha. The looks I get they must think I'm supplying the whole town
