I reckon you're not a Yank ... that you really live in Australia and those round things are seeds from an Eastern Australian Scrub Tree.

Has anyone won yet ? if not I'll take a stab .. a seed from a very large tree. maybe in colder climate.
I'm not good on names so this is vague.

Looks like a lime that got forgotten in the fridge. Could be a Temple Ball that molded or got rolled in something else. Dried lychee nut or other tropical fruit. Rainforest tree seed.

Okay, this I know from the photo's:
It is round. It is on a plastic bucket lid. It is brown. It is tennis ball size. It makes people ask what it is. It is held in human fingers.
So, it is a curious tennis ball sized round brown thing sitting on plastic bucket lid or between fingers making people ask what it is. Right?
Do I win?
