got another Q??

got another Q??

Isnt 5000GPH overkill? You say take number of buckets multiplied by 7 to 10 times per hour, Im only getting 2050GPH with your number of buckets and res. and you have more than twice that, care to help me out? Just wondering I see folks with 8 buckets using 700GPH, what would you recommend for 18 buckets, or do you have a formula for pumps? how much was that mammoth pump??

Bonzo – thanks for the props bro, if that someday ever comes around and I’m still here, look me up I’ll be glade to help ya any way I can, in the mean time; no those are not AK’s those are unknown bag-seed strain that local friends gave me when I first started out, but the next run that I do will be 18 AK-47’s & 18 HDF side-by-side that should be interesting!!

Budmaster420 – thanks for the complement, and you read through the hole thing, that’s pretty amazing in it’s self.

dirtysouthboss – thanks for stopping by let’s see if I can’t answer some of your questions.

Yes you are right my pump is an overkill let me explain, in the beginning my reservoir was going to be a lot further away than what I thought, but could not do that so my reservoir now is a lot closer to my buckets than what I had originally thought; the rate of exchange in my Bio-Buckets are 18 times an hour!!

As a rule of thumb I would recommend 12 times an hour: let me explain, you see every pump is rated at GPH per Foot!! that means that for every foot that you go away from the pump you loose so much psi, most all commercial pumps come with a data-sheet that will tell you this.

what would you recommend for 18 buckets, or do you have a formula for pumps? how much was that mammoth pump??
well I run two 18 five gallon Bio-Buckets side-by-side in my grow/room with that 5000GPH pump, but if your only going to run 18 Bio-Buckets you defiantly don’t wont that big ass pump!!

Imo if it were me I would go with a; 216GPH pump and would not have the pump more than 5 to 7 feet away from the Bio-Buckets, that’s what I would do. As for the how much those pumps are just do a search for them on the internet, you can find some really good deals out there.

Yep I've got nothing better to do than cruise the site most days. I had to check out those bio-buckets and wanted to read the whole journal as they seem rather interesting and yours is the first bio-bucket grow I've seen I think :chin: Anyway they look the business :canabis: :joint: Sweet grow

Dragonslayer – thanks for stopping by and for the kind words, maybe I’ll see ya around in the following post’s.

Budmaster420 – ya I know what you mean, the IC community has become my surrogate family also.

I would like to think that I have lot’s of friends in the IC community, and most of them have some amazing hydro systems, and I think it’s all a matter of what your comfortable with when it comes to growing, I find the Bio-System a fascinating way of growing and it also suits my needs as a grower.

Im amazed at all the knowledge here as well. Pretty awesome :D

Wow BigToke....
Your garden is friggin beautiful. I'm going DWC for my intial hydro grow. After reading yours and another Bio Bucket grow, I'm so gonna go that route for my future grows...(Summertime). The room I'm growing in is 18x12 so I've got plenty of room to expand! Lookin forward to seeing these babies at harvest time.

MsHerbalivation, -- I see that you have visited my latest grow also, well what can I say other than I am very well pleased with the Bio-Buckets; in the year of 2004 they (the bio-buckets) pumped out more bud back-to-back than any thing I could imagined!! And with the help of my new beans AK-47 and HDF, I don’t think that I would be standing on a limb that would be to heavily bent by saying that in this year of 2005, is going to do more than I ever thought.

Wow that is a great grow/room space!! When the time comes and if you need any assistants with your room or design, just let me know or of you have any other questions about the Bio-Buckets I’ll do my best, I don’t know every thing and don’t clam to ether but I can tell you what I know and what I have done in the Bio-Buckets, so good luck with your new project.

Protégé – thanks for the boost……glade you like, if there is any way that I can help you I’ll be here. In the mean time here’s this weeks pic’s.

The first two pic’s are as if your looking down the middle of both Bio-Buckets Systems, there are 18 BB’s on each side; I made a frame to go around each system that way I can put up some netting as you can see, if not they would be hanging out every were.

The second two pic’s are without the netting.

Sleepy – thanks for the props bro, I’m glade you liked the show, drop in any time.

Mrwags – yea I know, I pump it up with a hole lot of info so that every one might better understand the Bio-Buckets, glade you liked.

Btw here’s a few more pic’s I took the other day right before I put them in there 48 hour of darkness I always try to maintain a very cold temp of 40 to 45 F, and keep the humidity between 25 to 35, I always seem to get better results from this, so it well be a few days before I start taking shots of the finished harvest.
