Are all strains without adventitious roots difficult to clone?

I have this female, see... and she's a straight stick without any bumps on her stems. My attempts to clone her so far have all failed. The cuts act like they're rootbound and try to flower out, even under 24/7 lighting. Wheeeeeeeee!

Any of you have experience with strains like this? They all have issues rooting, or is my straight stick gal just not liking the polluted environment I'm living in?

I'm sure you have, but have you tried scraping the green off the bottom cm to expose the white?
