Are all "beneficial bacteria" good?

I've run across many products that are "beneficial bacteria". Some are for fishtanks and others are for ponds that have been over run by algae. Some are liquid, some are dry.

Are these strictly for use with their labeling.. like fish tanks, or can they be used in Hydro and Soil?

you shouldn't use anything not labeled for agriculture. there are many hydro and soil inoculators available that are proven to work.

simply adding high-grade worm castings (poop) will add multiple beneficial bacteria species.

Most fish tank bacteria is harmless. Doesn't mean certain things won't get out of control in a hydro set-up or just up and die and be a food source for something else. With that said you should just get some fish brew or fish shit brand inoculate. Use something that actually works with plants.
