They are very quick. I had to cut one as I got some powdery mildew a month back and they got it too when they were seedlings sigh. It held out until this late in bud.

They look really good @Sub24ox7 . Nice fade of them and they seem to bulk up towards the end. Mine is signaling she's ready but I'm going to force her out till week eight if I can. What flowering periods are you getting?

Pretty sure it’s been only 43 days. And two of them could be taken in a couple days. The other two look like a week and a half to 2.
Will try to take the two to 8 weeks.

They look great @Sub24ox7 and again nearly done - although i don't think , flowering at 11/13, that you'll be able to directly compare the flowering times with @Jahaze . These Ahmar seem very reactive to photoperoid and i think the hour's extra dark will speed things up somewhat.
I've noticed one the mother plants ive kept from the F1s will throw quite a few pistils at 16/8 - so i reckon that the Chefchauen hashplant in the original cross must have been very early flowering.

The other thing ive found intriguing about Sub24's plants is how much they branched out. My logic would make me think that 11/13 would result in more columner plants due to faster flowering onset, but seeing this grow has made me wonder if the opposite is true, that 11/13 made them branch out more ! - of course it could be down to a lot of other variables like the space given to the plants etc.. but interesting all the same.

End of the road for my Ahmar f2. 56 days of flowering so exactly 8 weeks from flipping. I hadn't watered in 3 days and she was bone dry. I checked the trichomes and majority milky with a few amber here and there with few clear heads. The smell has changed into a sweet earthy organic type smell. There are hints of coffee, dried fruit, and leather. I can see how the comparison to bubba kush is easy to make. I wish I had more plants to compare but I lost a couple to root aphids in the seedlings stage. I have more f2s well as the red bubba so I have an opportunity to explore this very interesting line. Some pics before the chop and with the big fan leaves removed so we can see what she looked like with her clothes off.

Great @Jahaze she looks pretty chunky! glad you found the line interesting to grow
Very nice looking plant i guess she must lean towards the hashplant end of the variation given the speedy flowering time.

Cute plants. Is it very trippy? I have a pack of Northcoast Panama waiting. Have run the Greenthumb, Snow, Hippie and ACE Panama.

I think 'Euphoric' is a good description. I find Ahmar to be happy, lively smoke. It has a bodystone/painkilling side for sure but balanced with an uplifting happy energy alongside it - and if i'm sitting down i find myself regularly getting up and enthusiastically engaging in something ive just thought of to do.
I was quite ill with covid and cold recently and smoking joints of Ahmar made me feel SO much better... settling everything down wonderfully.
I think the 'hashplant' side of Ahmar must be something quite similar to Bubba, i doubt it was genetically a sativa and may just have been described as such because it has a good 'cerebral' side to its high... although it may have been a sativa along the lines of Beldia which would also explain the fast flowering. This all gives Ahmar a familiarity..
BUT i think the Panama side of Ahmar is likely some genetics that havent been in wide circulation. It couldn't have been very narrow leafed. (and some oldschool descriptions of Panama Red say that it had wide leaves)
I imagine back then (late 60's) that any Cannabis that came from Panama and sold to 'foriegners' would have automatically been described as PR and as such the term likely covered multiple variants or varieties.
What makes me pretty sure that the PR story is true is that One of the F1s turned red/purple in a way that ive never seen before in cannabis (from the centre of the bud outwards). and a couple of others turned 'semi' red in a similar but less pronounced way).
So alongside the familiarity of Ahmar being comparable to Bubba.. there are smells and traits that make it, to me at least, quite new and unusual, and having grown off and on for 30+ years it is quite rare to find that these days.

Hey @Sub24ox7 they both look great. The dry buds have that 'silvery' resin a bit like bubba and the smell/taste you describe sounds on point. How is the potency?
The one that is taking a bit longer does have a distictly longer leaflet to my eyes and i'll be interested if you detect any differences in the high, this being a longer flowering F2... looks chunky and nice fade on it.

Good point on genetic confusion with the Panama Red. Same thing happened with Acapulco Gold. Money was made with names. I think most who smoked 'Panama Red' were smoking the more common lowland Colombian Red.

Colombian Red was good smoke but more like a modern hybrid. I smoked the Colombian Red once. Never the Panama Red. Best I have heard, was that Punto Rojo and Panama Red are the same thing. Highland, long flower spindly sativas.

Yes there are quite few different stories and descriptions of PR that ive found although i have no personal experience of it before this. The seeds that made Ahmar were collected from weed he bought IN Panama though as he traveled there back in the day.
That said, 60 years or so before the farmer traveled there, Panama was still part of Colombia! (split in 1903) so i guess the history of the landraces and varieties coming from that part of the world is very intertwined....
