2022 by the Danube: ZamZamKullu, PCK and China Yunnan

My indoor soil was a mix of:
65% 2 different bags of bought garden soil (mostly peat, perlite, etc.)
30% compost; what from wasn't specified on the bag, but I can find pieces of evergreen tree bark in it that couldn't rot because of the resin in it
5% zeolite
As far as I remember I fertilized once, sometime in the middle of vegetation, I usually wait to see some signs of hunger (the cotiledons starting to die). With some universal NPK 6-4-4, diluted 3 times more than prescribed on the bottle. I keep my plants on the slightly hungry side, very few added salts, and so it's easier to keep them happy in small containers. Just watering with tap water all the time.

The soil at my outdoor spots gets enriched every year. This year it was with the same compost and zeolite, something like
60% local soil with previous amendments
35% compost
5% zeolite

I actually culled the revegging PCK plant (not the "dark" one) after taking the photos, because I want 2 plants remaining at that spot for autumn harvest - a PCK and a China Yunnan.

I will write more when I have time, but my first impressions from smoking both PCK and China Yunnan (seeded of course) are very positive. Not strong, but high quality positive pleasant high from both of them. PCK is more relaxed, but still not heavy/stony at all. Great!

Update with fresh photos.
We've been having very dry start of the summer. It's not the hottest weather, still haven't passed 40*C, the forecasts are that it will stay close to 40*C for the next 10 days. But the soil is already very dry and the heat + drought is heavy on the plants. I water with 30L per spot every other day and it is enough to keep the plants happy but not enough to make the big plants grow bigger.
PurpleMexican x ZamKullu and ZamZamKullu both have a similar stem smell that I associate with Thai plants (what I've grown and has "thai" in its name), somewhat sweet and fresh, reminds of eucalyptus. This smell is different than the stem smells of the mothers of these 2 plants (Purple Mexican and Zamaldelica), so it seems the ZamKullu father is responsible for it, though I remember the male had the Zam mother's cherry smell. Kullu also didn't have this stem smell, so it's a bit of a surprise.
The other ZamZamKullu plant that hermied (and that is actually still alive sprouting new branches after I cut it almost at the base) keeps the Zam mother's cherry stem smell.

This plant is suffering from the stem borers that we have in our outdoors. Last year was a calm one, but this season they are exploding. Many of the big fan leaves (their stems) and the big branches are affected, with the leaves above the bugged stems staying pale/yellow. I could spray with pirethroids, but decided to leave the plant battle the pests by itself. Here's a leaf stem that I sliced, so that the larva is visible:

Here's the hermy ZamZamKullu plant, which I'll leave to see if it will hermy again in the autumn.

To carry that much water to remote places is a good workout! The plants will be thankful for that and gift you with a great harvest. They are looking very fine!

Hi yoss33. I read your thread and I like it!
Your description is very good.
The plants are beautiful and your work of hybridation is very interesting.
The hot days in this season are a great problem for our plants.
Very good strain.
Enjoy
Bye bye👋🏻👋🏻

Thank you, people! The heats continue, I've been watering mostly every day and the plants are happy and growing. My spots are just outside of my property, so I don't have to carry the water long distances. Unlike a friend who grows guerrilla and is complaining a lot this year.

ZamZamKullu, which shows strong "semi-autoflowering", stronger (and earlier) than that of the Zam mother, and more in tune with the most "semi-autoflowering" Zamaldelica plants, like the one that I grew in 2015.

China Yunnan, which is looking more and more like a compact SE Asian sativa. Fairly similar to the 2 Orient Express plants that I've seen (and smoked). It looks more sativa than the New Caledonia plant that I grew last year.

Didn't know the hmong tribes speak Russian :) I personally haven't spoken in Russian since childhood and right now it's a bit touchy subject, with the war that's some 300 km from here.
It's BG Danube here, my growing place is about 30 km to the south from the most southern point of the Danube.

my bad haha, I didn't even think of Balkan and beyond.
in that case the Cyrillic I've seen on your profile makes more sense, I see Cyrillic and always wanna test my college Russian.
Hmong tribes have come around, besides German and English, they speak some Russian and Serbian, Spanish, Italian, Thai. Only thing they refuse to learn is French.

Nice place you at, what's your lattitude? sry if I missed that in the thread

Unfortunately, the Purple Mexican x ZamKullu plant shrivelled and died in the course of 2 weeks. When I removed the soil around the root ball I saw that it had 2 big roots teared off and most probably it had some disease enter through the wounds. I had the plant tied to a big pole stick, but it was not tied very well and the plant has been bending under the last storms, tearing its roots. This is the 3rd plant that I loose in that way, all 3 of these plants being Zamaldelica or a descendant.

The other plants are doing fine.

A friend of mine that was growing the 3rd ZamZamKullu (from the ones that I started this season) didn't have luck - his plant now started to flower and it's all in male flowers. It had only female preflowers when I gave it to him. So, 2 out of 3 ZamZamKullu's are having hermie issues. Not good...

So far, it's a weak sweet, grassy, lemony and flowery smell. Similar to the smell of the Zamaldelica mother which has quite unspectacular smell for how it kicks. Some other Zamaldelica's from the pack (the 2012 version) had more attractive orange/mandarine/grapefruit smells. However, when well cured, this Zamaldelica has a rich flavor of sweet wood and spices, all doped in iodine tincture :)

The PCK plant was harvested a few days ago. It had a new wave of flowers emerging but the overall smell was beginning to decline, so I harvested.

We are having a dry autumn, perfect for late grapes and weed :) I didn't water for several days, then I tested positive for covid and had to stay at home and not water one more week. And when I finally visited the plants today, they were droopy and thirsty, with many lost leaves. I watered them and waited till they perk up for the photoshoot.

The first samples are very electric in effect.

Many tops have been damaged to some extent by stem borers. Some are essentially topped, like this one:
