This season I want to grow 4 plants:
Flash Back 2ed. feminized (Flo x White Widow; Sweet Seeds), Nueva Caledonia  regular ("landrace"; Asociación de Cultivadores Españoles aka A.C.E.), Extreme Haze regular (NL#5-Haze "extreme haze pheno" x Old Timers Haze "green light pheno"; Tropical Seeds Company aka T.S.Co.), and Green Haze 19 A5 feminized (Green Oldtimers Haze #19 x NL#5-Haze A; A.C.E.).
They were born between the 5th and 17th of this month, and until this morning, they were all still in two pots outside my house, next to the "arreates"(in Spanish) gardens that surround it.

In reserve, in case any of the previous seeds/plants fail, I have Golden Tiger x Panamá fem, Zamaldélica fem and Thai A5 Haze fem (A.C.E), King Congo, Full Energy and Zamalmystic (Tropical Seeds Company), and Original Haze, O.Haze x The Doors and O.Haze x (Silver Bubble x Ultra Early Love Potion) (MadMac)

Flash Back 2ed. feminized (Flo x White Widow; Sweet Seeds), born on May-5:

Nueva Caledonia regular ("landrace"; A.C.E.), born on May-8:

IMG_20240518_213241.jpg

Extreme Haze regular (NL#5-Haze "extreme haze pheno" x Old Timers Haze "green light pheno"; Tropical Seeds Company), born May-14:
IMG_20240518_213256.jpg

And Green Haze 19 A5 feminized (A.C.E.);
that yesterday May-18, instead of the root timidly beginning to emerge from the shell when the seed is hydrated, the seedling has emerged as if ejected from the shell, like spaceships when they get rid of their "phases" or useless parts in mid-flight...
I really want to repeat this variety, which I loved a few years ago (of the other 3, I have only farmed Flash Back before).
I buried it in substrate as best I could; I strongly hope she survives such an energetic takeoff...

...And so, it looked this morning; It has only acquired a very faint green hue, invisible in the photo...

When the plants grows a little, I will transplant they up the hill, in "La Perrera" (the outer enclosure of an old kennel where the puppies could be isolated from the adult dogs: it is nothing more than a baseboard of blocks on enriched natural soil, like a small garden, with a light structure of metal posts, and walls and ceiling covered with anti-bird mesh and shading/camouflage mesh: there is no greenhouse's plastic cover).
"La Perrera", "The Dogs' House", same days ago, before transplanting; Next to the entrance door, a "amiguete" and selfless collaborator in this crop, "Yako", in his work to prevent possible "mammals bipeds pests":

"La Perrera" It will be approximately 7 meters long, about 2.25 meters wide, and about 2 meters high:

...And looking from the inside of "La Perrera" to out, another collaborator and "amiguete": the very old "Tigre"; napping, but always "with one eye open"; -Right, my old "Tigre"?-

..."Tigre" is very old, and could die any day now...

More than 20 years ago, I removed a great part of the cement floor and metal mesh from the outdoor part of this old puppy kennel using a metal bar and pickaxe, until reaching the natural floor. Then I dug 5 large holes as deep as I could, removed that soil, and replaced it with commercial substrate (I don't remember how many bags of Canna Terra Profesional + I had to buy), clay, vermiculite, and river sand. Every year, I only remove that old soil, to add fertilizers and amendments.

I normally collect manure/guano from the animals that abound around me (rabbit, chicken, horses, sheep, goat, bat) as fertilizer; but this year I have not been able to for various reasons, and to initially enrich the substrate of each hole, about 200 grams of Atami ATA NGR Upgrade, about 100 grams of Top Crop Superguano, about 100 grams of Compo Huerto Urbano (seabird guano + calcium dolomite), 50 grams of Top Crop Micro Vita, as well as ash from pruning wood (mainly olive, holm oak, palm and palmetto), coffee grounds, diatomaceous earth, pine bark, and empty snail shells.
I choose one of the 5 possible holes for the Nueva Caledonia (A.C.E.) , and I get to work...

...As soon as I dig a little, these large larvae begin to appear and emerge...(a toad also came out, which went to bury itself in the next hole)

...And as soon as I touch them, they curl up in the fetal position and play dead; but shortly after leaving them alone, they "resurrect" and try to dig their way back inside the substrate...

The next day, I upload up the hill the A.C.E.'s New Caledonia. to transplant it into its hole, which I find like this:
IMG_20240519_145728.jpg

I transplant the seedling, making a tree pit around it, and sprinkling it with diatomaceous earth, and...it's done; It was simple:

Our mission with the New Caledonia accomplished, it's time to go back down the hill, towards the house
IMG_20240519_154452.jpg

The olive trees are this spring, full of flowers; Even the ground around their trunks is sifted with a carpet of their fallen dried flowers, which I can pick up by the handful

Suddenly, shortly after starting the descent, two of my dogs who are otherwise inseparable friends ("Yako", a working Eastern German Shepherd, and "Chico", an Andalusian winery terrier) begin one of their recurring arguments/fights Germany vs. Spain...

...What about what or why do they argue? Who knows... About the economic policy of the E.U.? About the exterior? About energy?... Naaah; I think because of football...

Well, the truth is that they are just games: "Chico" can be a heavy, daring and provocative pest; and "Yako" shows infinite patience and tolerance with him, never closing his jaws, which he does not show with larger dogs:

Muchísimas gracias, primo @el mani ; te contesto acá para no enredar el hilo del primo Del Monte;
https://www.icmag.com/threads/hombre-del-montes-garden.18123341/

30-May-2024 :
I'm afraid that my much-desired Green Haze 19 A5 fem (A.C.E) has not survived its explosive birth... For a few days it seemed like I was going to get it, as it was starting to turn green; but as of last May 30, the hopeful green turned towards to a "mortecino" pale yellow , until it dried...
