The preamble...

Well my beans are finally here!
50 days after ordering!

These are paid for seeds, nice and fresh, no excuses!

The seeds:
5 x Dinafem Big Kush - O.G Kush x Critical
- gonna germinate 3 to start

1 x Blimburn Girlscout Cookies - O.G Kush x Durban Poison x Grand Daddy Purple - Freebie - will use as a back up strain.

1 x Deliciou Seeds - Northern Light Blue Auto - Immediate smoke!

I will collect from Post Office in the morning and the journey will begin!!
I will document every step of the process in detail starting on day 1 - the day seeds are removed from packaging!!

Hold thumbs and watch this space...

Any input, as usual is greatly appreciated...

Bored to tears at work...

A little more detail..

Wanna create a system that requires minimum input and delivers maximum possible yields...

Gonna use a combination of systems..

The goal - A perpetual bi-weekly harvest of 1kg...

How we gonna go about this?

Well my grow is situated +/- 100 km's from my place of residence.
This is why the need for low input! I have a partner who is not a grower or at all interested in that aspect of things - but is willing to put in a bit of donkey work.
he will do all the building, renovations and maintenance and will be required to feed plants once a week!

Seeds will be germinated locally at a mates place - regular - soak in sterilised water, lay into roller towel to germinate then into 2l hempy's.(chosen medium - Cocopeat & Perlite)
+/- 2 weeks then off to farm and into summer room.

Fimmed at 4th inter-node, allowed to re-establish and re-potted into 10l hempy's.

Aiming to take 24 clones in 2 months which will then enable me to choose the selected phenotype and establish mother plants.

Regular cloning system in bubbler box to feed summer room, establish a perfect vegging period and flower in supersoil in greenhouse.

That's it in a nutshell..

Let's see how it goes!

Howdy from RSA

If im reading correct is that 5 seeds of Og x Critical or 5 packs?

Im not sure how controlled your indoor will be but usually with 5 seeds you are not likely to find a proper production plant that suits the local climate and conditions, produces a production quality yield, and is immune to local plagues like powdery mildew, mites etc. OG in particular doesn't usually yield a lot (but I have not run the seeds you got so i dunno).

Wishing you the best of luck in your search!

Super soil is definitely the way to go in my opinion for a hassle free grow. It allows you to tinker and top dress different things onto different plants as they need or like. Each plant is different.

In a hydro setup all the plants get fed the same through the res and you cant individualize the care.

Thanks for the interest Oldbootz!
Just 5 seeds, will choose the best of them.

O.G is notorious for low yields, hence the cross with critical.
Get's very good reports and i'm confident that i should eventually get 100g dry per plant!

I want to harvest 12 plants every 2-3 weeks.

Got the most awesome nutrients and feeding schedule, gonna make use of fimming, topping, and L.S.T to maximise yields

Thanks again for the good wishes, watch this space and feel free to weigh in with any advice or tips

Tah Dah!

Collected my beans from the post office on Saturday 14.10.17!
That will then count as day 1!

New t-shirt(G13 labs - premium seeds) to add to the collection!

Looks rather dissapointing when you lay it out on a table and think of the money spent.. Well it's an investment.

The bred seeds look so scrawny, underdeveloped and light in colour as if they aren't properly matured?

Layed them into sterilised water around 15h00...

Day 2(24 hrs) all the seeds have sunk and some show signs of seed case cracking!!
Will make a call tonight but i would expect at least another 24 hrs.

P.s I think previous problems with mildew was due to laziness!
I used pre-mixed coco/perlite from a previous grow and it still had some moisture(+/- 6 months!)!!

Mixed up a fresh batch yesterday...

All ready to roll, watch this space! [url='https://www.icmag.com/ic/picture.php?albumid=74889&pict ureid=1792366'][/u

Buenos Dias All!!

Day 4 - Effectively 72hrs since removing goodies from packaging!
(I got a fucked up time keeping schedule, I know!)

Success!! - 100% germination rate!

Just want to take a minute to plug my suppliers!
If you live in my neck of the woods it's not always easy to source the required seeds or equipment.. Many of the international seedbanks will not ship to S.A.
The Attitude seedbank sources from all over the world and ships to my nearest post office!
The aftersales service received from Lauren and her team is superb and I can Highly recommend giving them a try!

Once again I have my belief in Dinafem confirmed!

Right, down to the nitty gritty!

New hempy's with fresh coco/perlite well fed with Hydro A & B at 6.0ph to create resevoir...

Starting on my low maintenance schedule where they will be fed twice weekly(Saturdays and Wednesdays)

1. Delicious Seeds - Northern Light Blue - Auto
Smallest of developed roots after 72hrs(24 in water, 48 in moistened roller towel) - The root tip seems to have curled around almost around itself. Planted carefully and hopefully will correct itself and grow towards the light.

2. Blinburn - Girl Scout Cookies
Very impressed! Good long root, signs of green(sun leaves) inside seed casing whilst still in roller towel!! Looking forward to see what she delivers.

3. Dinafem - Big Kush
The Main Event!
Looking fantastic long, snow white roots!

All planted, placed under a 36w Cool white(6500k) CFL at night, onto covered porch in the day(+/- 6hrs direct sunlight during the day.

Expecting to see first greenery tonight, should have 5 plants by tomorrow night!

What you guys think?

It is with great sadness and regret that I have to mention that I learned of the passing on of a great friend of mine...

"The Colonel" a true legend, gentleman and passionate supporter of the plant!

"you will be greatly missed my dear friend, I will miss all the good smokes, great discussions and the making of exciting plans!
Keep on toking, show them how it's done and start preparing our next garden!!"

I know you will always be around and looking over us - I dedicate the Girl Scout Cookies to you as i know how excited you were!

Rest in Peace my brother!
