The 'Swaze Blast' Experiment ;)

So recently I decided I should put the knowledge I have been learning over the years into practice and have a go at all things weed!

So this will be my first attempt at crossing =)

I will be crossing a Afro Pips - Fast Blast male with a Afro Pips - Swazi Red female.

This is a test really as the male was not selected very well having been the only seedling to survive from a batch that got rot :( The Mother is all good though and was the biggest, smelliest and most crystally of the bunch!

The pollen was collected a few months ago and has been hibernating in my freezer.

Advice on defrosting this would be appreciated You may have seen my previous post on preserving seeds/pollen so I think I have it right

Well 3 weeks to go and I think I'm gonna push on still Managing to keep things under control touch wood it's just the back two ladies that I'm mostly hacking from Can't wait to see how they taste when they go full time

Think I will try some of this 11/13 with my sats next time so if it helps speed up ripening as suggested to me by the breeder of my hazelope I love this place! Direct advice on your beans from the breeder who made them!

Well I held it out as long as I could but had to start flush 20th since there are still small signs or rot now and then and I cant leave these babies un attended :(

No more rot next time! Gonna take all precautions

@Mk3Jetta: Not sure don't have a humidity probe but I will borrow one and check I think it's reasonable tho except maybe one day when someone closed the window and door of the room the drobe is in and things got a little moist!

Don't really want to have the expense of running a dehumidifier if I can help it though. Maybe I will invest in some crystals if I can find them, couldn't last time problem health n safety crap lol

Well I have plenty of lovely lemony spicy smelling herb to be turned into oil and I don't need to feel guilty about and enough rot saved bud to see me through till next run which will now be sooner than planned heh!

I still need to take this all down and jar it, perhaps buy some more jars too since I have two crops to take down and want all of both in jars

Here are some pics of what's in my "Smoking today" jar:

It smells too nice and the high is better than my last run, think I'm starting to get used to her so the next run will be perfect

Gonna change my light timings to see if I can get it a little riper still

@Normannen: Cheers man! You should have seen the fatter colas they was pretty fat and very dense feeling but alas too dense to survive rot like that hehe. If I'm feeling brave I will take some pics of the better sides of them before they get offered to the oil gods

The Fast Blast male has dropped some pollen from pre flowers again while I had my back turned There still seems to be over half of them left to go so I have laid out sheets of plain paper underneath to catch anyhting that might fall when I'm not around Pics to follow.

Mumma Swazi red looking a little over watered today, cleaned my drippers and left the timings the same! Took them down by half and will be adjusting them again over the next week

Well the paper ain't really catching shit :( It seems too light and just disperses in mid air or maybe it's cos it's pre-flowers there is not enough worth catching? Or should I be picking things off with tweezers, and is there enough on an open pod to pick or do I need to spot a ripe unopened one somehow? Think I'm gonna have to wait till I build my first micro and flower a few cuts of each controlled in there...

Well since the last post I started picking things off with tweezers, both open sacks and sacks that seemed just about to burst that I was able to pull open with the tweezers, they are in a jar with a piece of paper over the top so the pollen can breath and dry out some.

I'm still going to take a few cuts of this and force flower it in my nursery space using a black bag method Decided it's about time I showed some dedication hehe! This way I don't need to build a micro just yet, since me and my friend are slacking on that one! and I don't affect my mothers and other plants

What's good for filtering intakes tho? I don't want and accidents on the closest room!

Here are a couple of shots of dad and mum after a root trimming and soil top up. Mum looks good on top but the bottom has lots of very tiny leaves very close together, looks quite bonsai but doesn't look like cutting material which is sad since I wanted to cut her back to near that level, so I might replace her soon :(
