Red Diesel Grow Notes
This report based on 4 feminized Red Diesels grown out between
June-August of 2008.I found Red Diesel to be an average strain compared
to some of the other varieties out there. Don't get me wrong, shes a nice
strain and I'm sure it would fit the needs and please some other growers,
but she just wasn't what I was looking for. Good germination rate of 4/5. All
plants grew vigorously with a typical sativa structure and were fairly simple
to manage. I found the stems on this one to be a bit weak as some of the
plants that were left untopped had to be supported to keep the main cola
in the upright position. I had hermie issues with one plant in particular and
had to chop about a week before the rest to prevent pollination from
occurring.

Smell: ~ Somewhat fuely but very sweet smelling in flower with hints
of grape. The dried product has a very pleasant fruity smell with fuel
undertones.

Taste: ~ This is Red Diesel's best characteristic for me. The taste is
excellent. Nice and sweet upon inhale, almost like sour candy.

Potency: ~ 7/10 - I was a little disappointed with this strain in the
potency department. Still excellent smoke though, just doesn't take me to
that next level you know. The buzz is a clear, up high and somewhat
energetic. Not a daywrecker, but good daytime smoke for going out and
socializing.

Yield: ~ 4 plants yielded 240g dry. Plants ranged from 10"-12" at start of 12/12.

Overall: ~ Aside from the hermie issues, Barney's Red Diesel proved to
be a nice, easy to grow strain. Not exactly what I'm looking for, but friends
seem to love it.

i recently grew red diesel from barneys, i too had a huge hermie issue with this strain 3 of the 4 hermied on me at week 4 of flower. none of the other 8 strains/26 plants i have went hermie on me just the 3 red diesel. also i was not impressed with the smell or flavor of the one that didnt hermie on me. had a very weak fruity smell and absolutley no diesel flavor or smell. she did produce very heavy buds though... so if yuor looking for decent weed and high yield she will work for you.
