Sativa Loco Grow Notes
Popped 6 seeds - all died but 1 from a stem rot disease.

Flowered it out and it hermied - no stretch - weak smell - bad calyx stacking - more of a foxtail growth pattern.

Hermied late before 10 weeks - not a real sativa.

Smoke turned out real weak and I just added it ot the hash pile.

Grew it again and same results - hermied before 10 weeks - no smell or taste and very poor yield.

I hope Cannafornia drops these genetics.

nice honest report. Too bad she didn't work out for you. I agree there is a market for old school flavors and highs..If not, there should be. I am currently growing some older sativa genetics.. I definitely wouldn't count her out after only flowering two phenos( yours and gaxx) I recently started 5 thai lights. Got 3 fems and they are all look VERY similar but one is all yield,no trichs, one is all trichs, and one is inbetween. it takes some work no doubt. I look forward to further reports from you..peace BL

One good word for SL - am growing it OD at 45N. Germed 4 out of 4. Plants are not too big after ~2 months veg, but that's OK with me. They look very healthy and 2 have already shown as fems, which is real early for me. Shouldn't have any trouble finishing. No sign of hermies.

Thank you for the honest report, LyryC... You have done a wonderful job trying to get something worthy from Sativa Loco... As you said,it's a shame there was only 1 that made it to the flowering stage and if flipped around week 10. Outstanding effort on your part as a tester in giving it a 2nd shot. Having just grown a couple Sativa Loco myself and oddly enough I've been smoking on SL mixed in GSC the past couple days... Your timing is great... lol I would agree with your smoke head report in that SL has proven not to be quite what I was after... I took a seed from the 1980's (California Mexican) and crossed it with a seed from the 1990's (California Mexican) Mom is a Heavy Sativa and Dad is a Afghani cross... Issues such as male flowers were to be expected, though I had hope luck was on my side as neither parents had issue during the grows I did with them... Though on the last grow of the mom I did manage to flip her with stress around week 4 but those were obviously stressed induced and would have most likely had given Feminized seed... Culled none the less...lol Big momma too...Doh.. What is surprising/disappointing me is her Nose/taste/head For me SL was a easy grower with great germination rates... Had a nice look to her through Veg-cloned fine-was a looker come late flower and took massive De-fanning @ week5 with no male flowers and being cut @ 80 though I think she should have gone longer... Though I found a hint of Flavors and Head highs from back in the day they were faint and short lived... Sativa Locos purpose was for hunting Mid grade Mexican weed found in Southern California around the late 80's into the 90's... She is not living up to my expectations in terms on Head/taste/nose but given her purpose and her growth in my gardens I've chosen to give her one more chance and crossed her with Feminized GSC with the desire to enhance her Head/taste and also bring out more of the colors I found in flowering... Funny enough I gave her a 2nd chance because of your efforts and findings with her 1st test run. I was going to pull her from the shelves at one point but I think there's a market forming for unique flavors from back in the day and if the SL-GSC work out then we might see her again... (Im using the "One mans trash is anthers treasure" logic here)lol The SL-GSC are not being offered to the public but I will post them when I work them.... Thank you for taking the time to both test and share your findings. K+ tester in my book... D.U.D.E...
