Blueberry Grow Notes
i wanted to try this strain properly , after reading allot of negative things about this strain, and dp the seed company , i decided to do a bit of a myth-busters on this strain and see for my self if it really was junk !!

so i done a 40 seed grow out of dps blueberry regs in late 2011 , germ rate was great every seed popped so guessing the seeds were fresh , seedlings were strong and healthy

after a quick veg period i switch them over to 12/12 so i could sex them .............. i got 19 males and 21 females

the seeds showed allot of variation on both the male and female side , tall ones , short ones , freaks . a little bit of everything !

was planning on keeping the best males but sadly had to kill them all ............. they was one male that was the last to show sex, had the sweetest smell when the stem was rubbed was unreal , was gutted to let it go !

out of the females left there was not one plant the same , all different and i mean every one , sativa domes , indicas , plants with no smell , plants with blueberry smell but hardly no bud, it seemed like a f2 were the full spectrum of the generics were opened up , some very interesting plants but i only wanted blueberry expressions !

out of the 21 females only 4 had everything , the sweet smell , the blue tint the colour change , they were about 4 out of the hole 21plants that showed hermie traits. but not much the odd pollen sack and nana nothing crazy ,

so after all the selection were done and the smoke had cleared , im left with 2 keepers

pheno, 1 a short indica bush, with super dense buds, nice yield sweet smells very nice resin ........... the bulletproof blue

pheno, 2 a bizarre sensitive stretch indica type plant weird weird plant grows strange freakish branches from weird places on the stem , cuttings from this plant all grow differently , from untouched untopped plants some stay as a normal one stem plant, others grow with 2 tops some with 3 tops very strange ! ...................... the bizarre blue

smoke report

pheno one, is a more indica hit still allot of head going on but not a bell ringer , beautiful taste beautiful smell not as sweet and creamy as pheno two slightly more hashy ,but very sweet in its own right

pheno two, is my fav i think this is the classic bluberry high a euphoric high that lifts you up and makes you feel happy , and makes you feel like everything is going to be just fine , taste is so creamy and sweet its the best tasting weed iv grown

i will let people make there own conclusions from my report , one thing i will add is this is not a beginners strain ! very testing and time consuming , big variation , not massive yields , allot of sensitive plants.................................... but in the end im very glad i did it :)

Ah yes, the beautiful blueberry. I grew my first dp bb grow in 98 and was hooked after that firs happy buzz. Over the years ive learned many of her secrets. She does hermi but the male flfowers diminish in 3- 4 generations of clones. In fact, leaf crumple, varigation and other minor abnormalities mediate to some degree as weell.

She's a buety you got there. I had a mohter for 4 yrs but an ice storm took out the electric and she froze. She didtn have any bleuberry taste at all. It was sweet buy no fruit.

But the happiness factor.... man o man you jush want to skip and whistle everywher you go. Life is wonderful when blueberry's in the bong.

id go with dj shorts if you have the cash even then your going to need 2 packs id say to find a good one !

all blueberry comes from the same place its just a matter of the differnt seed banks selections , so real you can strike gold any any blueberry line , bluebonic is very underrated there some nice blueberrys in there even know it is a cross of sorts

good luck

grew out a couple of these recently

prolly just bad luck, but i rate these in my top 5 worst strains i have ever grown

extremely stretchy plants withairy buds that hermied like you wouldnt believe

grown w/ canna coco line under 1000w's

what i personally feel from theop's report, 4 good plants out of 40 seeds is AWFUL

thanks everyone and yeahh its not to good when you need 40 seeds to find 4 good blueberrys , mind you they were good plants other than the 4 keepers , its just they didnt have everything , i found plants with a sweet blueberry smell that looked like generic green weed , and ones that looked like blueberry with beautifull colour but smelt like damp hay , iv only grown out 5 dj shorts seeds up to now so i cant really judge but i didn't find a nice example out of 3 females from dj , no real smell to them , and considering you can get 20 dp blueberrys for the cost or 10 dj thats something to think about if you want some blueberry !

pheno 1 is winning me over as it stands , pheon 2 is just a pain in the arse to grow , it flops everywhere , yeilds hardly anything and throws out nannas if you look at it the wrong way lol

Sounds like my experience growing and breeding dutch passions flo - I've spent about five years working and stabilizing the line. The original pack had ten TOTALLY different plants and the resulting f2's made from the one perfect smelling male resulted in totally different plants as well. It took three generations after the original pack to get a stable, looking line and then another two generations to stabilize the high. It's good to hear your experience. I agree with you about the time needed to sort through. I really think these dutch passion lines are a good way to delve into the background of dj's genetics, but to find good plants is a whole lot of work. However, they are there! And it's a really good project to undertake!
