| chemdog ibl Grow Notes |
the strain is easy to grow and doesn't smell much, so i like it in that sense, it gets really stinking the last few weeks though so be warned. certain pheno's were really impressive, they will likely stay in my garden for years to come.
my issue with the strain i guess is the extreme variation in a so called "in bred line" you would expect if it were patiently bred to have 2 or three, even 4 pheno's but every single plant i had of 6 females were vastly different. to the point that they didn't even seem to be the same strain. the sugariest ones lacked in flavor and the smelliest one is a real gem, but the 3 pheno's i kept are so completely different from eachother that it's confusing to other people when i call them all chemdog.
it had a slight tendency to hermie but if you don't stress her she breeds true, even after throwing bananas in previous clone generations.
the smelliest pheno i have looks identical to the chemdog d clone in pictures. i haven't seen it in real life nor smoked a good example of it but i think this pheno must be pretty close as it is amazing, however to to the large amount of genetic variation, i am not sure i could find it again in subsequent packs.
i also have a scentless pheno that i guess is supposed to look like the hindu kush father, supposedly bred out by now but apparently not, it has huge calyxes covered in crystals, they don't grow in traditional colas, completely foxtailed all the way to the stem. the taste is just like the smell, flavorless except for an extreme sour taste, not associated with any fruit or anything just sour comes to mind, flavorless and sour.
the third pheno that i kept was the sugeriest pheno, i am running all these clones again to see if it's worth keeping but the taste isn't amazing, smell is kinda like rotting leaves and junk...in a good way, so covered in sugar you can't hardly see the buds but the potency doesn't seem any stronger than the other pheno's, so it will likely get the boot after this next run is over.
honestly i ended up with a few really good moms, which is all you can hope for in a 10 pack of seeds really...but there was so much variation from plant to plant i don't know if i could recommend them to somebody else, for all i know they could get 5 or 6 pheno's that don't even match mine, i can't say that you will find my pheno' s as i have no idea how many pheno's there are in this so called stable strain...for all i know there could be dozens and i got really lucky...

Have the same stanky finicky bitch and everyone absolutely loves her! First bloom had a few nanners but zero pollen. she likes Cal special, and seems to not require the intense light so much. Raised to 40", topped and trained to have 12 tops each in 16- 3 gallon containers, cleaned up bottom growth and left just the last 4" of tops by flip time. 28 oz of choice nugs from 16 plants, and sht loads of nice hash material. 1k sodium on mover (24' square). Pretty stony at 8 weeks, but kick your fuckin ass is at 11-12 weeks. be safe!

Great report. | | Comment Posted by: Buddle on 02-29-2012 at 23:10 | | | Useless how? I also thought it was a great write up..Too many breeders that take their work, passionately, to pay 180.00 for a crap shoot of genetics..

Hopefully the connoisseur chem I just picked up will be more phenotypically stable, and for 1/2 the price with just about all the same pedigree, you can't beat that. |
