| Mandala # 1 Grow Notes |
|
I grew a pack of Mandala #1 outdoor in 2010. Three plants made it through germination (a quick note: the seeds are large and thick-shelled and may benefit from help or scarifying).
Of these three, the largest, most vigorous, and most sativa leaning turned out to be a boy, while one female was quite indica leaning and the other was fairly even. I incrossed both females with the male (who grew over ten feet from a ten gallon pot, even though I stopped watering in july).
The smoke from the females (which got mixed up in drying) was good, but more stupefying (indica influence), and some of it molded in the jars (my fault, forgot it under the couch).
The progeny (which I've started 10-20 of indoor, but only grown one female through and through) show many different phenos, including all parents and more. I would like to find a female with the characteristics of the stud male (fastest growth, red stems, many symmetrical horizontal branches, short internodes, pungent scent) but no luck yet, all plants with these attributes turn out to be male.
The female I vegged for six or seven weeks under t5s to fill out the screen, and it showed indica style growth the whole time. It flowered fast and furious, and was showing 80 - 90% red pistils when I gave her the chop at 55 days. Occasional amber trichomes, but mostly cloudy heads and clear stalks.
Mandala's seem to be always happy and healthy, very easy to grow! |

| Comment Posted by: self on 11-15-2011 at 16:49 | | | my patients like this as a morning and day time smoke over c99 crosses. | | Comment Posted by: self on 11-09-2011 at 22:17 | | | Just wanted to say I pulled almost a p off a clone of the above plant outside, and well over a p with a mandala x bcmango cross outside this season. And they both could have gone another two weeks but we were getting lots of wet weather. after a nice cure both are pretty impressive. The straight mandala f1 is like lemon pine bubblegum, and the mango is the same but with heady fruity overtones. i smoked a spliff of this this morning after taking a couple of days off from smoking, and was so wired I half expected to taste a drip...iykwim.
I'm crossing the mango mandala with a black widow male for next season. :tiphat: | | Comment Posted by: maxima32 on 08-23-2011 at 04:34 | | | mandala #1 is a great strain !
