This was an experimental outdoors grow using coco in 5gal buckets. Though limits and tolerances were pushed as part of the experiment, the strain is extremely forgiving and remains a hearty producer.LA Woman is a cross between LA Confidential(I) and Martian Mean Green(S). The pheno I worked with is very indica dominant even though its bouquet, taste, and high are more similar to Martian Mean Green. Powerful lime and fuel with a touch of kushy sourness and hint of skunk. The high is a clean, relaxing body high coupled with a pleasing energetic yet mind-dumbing buzz. Zero stone/couch-lock. Lasts around 3.25 hours, though your mileage may vary.
My plants were vegged both indoors and outdoors with a combination of LST, top/FIM, and supercrop with constant leaf thinning throughout veg. Internodal spacing will not be as short if not trained in this manner. Though the strain responds very positively to training, it requires additional workload and lots of extra attention. LA Woman is a very high maintenance strain if you wish for it to reach its potential.
Plants were introduced outdoors mid-July, and pre-flowers soon appeared. Flowering began in late July. Though I supplemented top booster 1.5 weeks too late due to a business trip, buds and trichs still quickly formed. LA Woman can be fed heavily throughout flower with no signs of burning until 1700+ppm. I started with 1.1k and peaked at 1.5k ppm before starting the flush. No leaf curl or signs of N overdose.
This LA Woman pheno is short, squat, tremendously leafy and has a dense growth pattern. Be prepared for constant thinning and training throughout it's life cycle. Bud rot is a major concern as colas are very dense. If humidity or light penetration is a problem, I suggest cola "opening" via micro-LST of cola branches.
Due to strong odor beginning at week 5, I suggest carbon filters if growing indoors. Outdoors, pests are very interested in this strain. Be vigilant throughout the cycle, especially for caterpillars. Because the plants and their colas are so dense, manual(or if you must, chemical) pest elimination can be very troublesome.
LA Woman finishes in approximately 9-10 weeks. Trichomes nearly 100% cloudy at week 8, but individual hairs may be 20-50% white even at week 9 while other hairs are completely ready. One can technically harvest at week 8, but I have found that the buds fatten up more if taken to a full 10 weeks. The potency is also a bit better.
Good producer under above-average conditions. Has phenomenal potential if trained and treated properly. This is a very newbie-friendly strain, but will not reach its potential under the care of neophytes. Masters will definitely appreciate the raw producing potential of this strain and particular phenotype. However, the time and energy that must be invested into this extremely high maintenance strain is very substantial. I would not recommend this as a money-maker, but rather as a hobby plant.
