Sprouted 4 seeds in jiffy pucks, in which 2 turned out to be male. When they got to a decent size I transplanted them into 1 gallon pots with 100% coco coir from Canadian Tire. Yes - Canadian Tire has decent stuff, since I couldn't find a hydro shop that carried Canna stuff. I don't remember the name of the stuff I picked out but it was pretty cheap. 4.99 for two large bricks, if I remember correctly. My growing system consisted of a drip system, using a small pond pump (also from CT), some tubing, and some drippers. It was pretty easy to construct and worked well. I fed them full strength nutes using the Flora feeding schedule (3 part veg, 2 part Micro, 1 part Flower) for the vegetative phase. They both showed signs of nute overdose so start with 1/2 strength and go from there. I lollipopped them (cut away about 2/3 of the bottom branches) due to my small 400w bulb not getting enough penetration for lower buds. This worked very well. Both plants showed great vigor and many budsites were formed.
After 2 months, I switched to 12/12, and used the initial flowering phase nutrient mix (2-2-2) for two weeks. After 1.5 weeks the buds were finally starting to show nicely. After two weeks, I switched the mix to 1-2-3 (full strength still) as the buds got larger.
The buds were not big at all but the actual calyxes on the plant were huge - biggest I've seen in person. I thought this would create huge buds, but unfortunately they didn't. Very rock solid though. After about 6 weeks, I started noticing the one plant was going hermie on me. Sure enough, it was, and unfortunately my yields were affected. The other female didn't turn out to be a hermie, but still lacked in yield.
Overall the strain is good - but not great. The high is quite something though - very hard hitting and lasts a long time. Probably wouldn't grow it again but it was worth a try for the price.
