organic materlow,day 38,150w

mdanzig said that i would love these plants and he is right. i am impatient and they grow fast.

13 seeds were precracked and placed into a moist paper towel. 24 hours later they all had tap roots and were placed in 6 packs filled with coco coir. another 36 hours and they all emerged from the coco. 13 of 13.

i vegged for about 10 days in the 6 packs. in this 10 day period i fried one of the plants by getting it too close to the light. that left 12 plants to be transplanted into 4.5" square pots. the raised transplanting method was used.

the first male appeared at 17 days from seed. by 22 days they all had shown sex leaving me with 6 females. i then transplanted from the 4.5" pots into 1gal pots filled with approx. 60% coco coir, 30% cow manure, 10% red clay.

during transplant i broke one of the females in half. i did not transplant the broken plant into 1 gal instead it was placed into a a large styrofoam cup from a fast food place. i wish that i had put the broken plant into a 1 gal pot like i did the rest as it looks like it would have yielded just as well as the rest of them had it been in a bigger pot.... live and learn.

i kept two of the best looking males and pollinated all the females about a week ago. one of the males i kept turned purple on the unopened flowers after being placed outside. the first cool night brought the purple color out.

only compost tea has been used for nutes. i give them the tea every other time i water. the tea is made from chicken compost (rice hulls, chicken shit, broken eggs, feathers, and dead chickens).

these plants were grown with 150w hps hung vertically with the plants in a circle around the light. for the first thirty days the temps in my box were out of control, never getting below 85 degF and regularly getting 100-102degF.

the smallest plant is 6" tall, the largest is 14" tall. most are very, very branchy. i really do like growing these. they are very vigorous and hardy.
