Can some of you Cali kush experts enlighten a midwesterner on what method they have their SFV dialed in with? I just finished running my first run of Kryptonite OGK BX1 and the smoke is KILLER. I have found the most potent and most "kush-like" pheno but my main problem is the stretch factor and they low-yield factor. I am running it in botanicare trays on drip feed with b'cuzz cococoir and the whole H&G Aquaflakes regime + roots excelorator and budXL. the kryptoberries I am running in this formula are HUGE and love it. Nice big fat tree stalks, and huge colas without a lot of fuss. The OGK in the tray next to it pales in comparison to weight. It stretches quite a bit but I can't seem to get anything more than the little golfball nugs. A friend of mine in Cali said that he crops almost the entire plant and is left with 1 or 2 nice colas per plant. He uses 2 gal pots to save space as well, has anyone heard of this method? Anyways, I'm curious to hear about some successful kush tips from you experts. Crip and Swerve I can't thank you enough to making these genetics available to the midwest, the Kryptoberry and OGK is stellar!

that is the nature of the beast!!!
They are low yeilders...I am using coco now and getting bigger yeilds than soil for sure but still not like a well performing hydro unit...Most people do not grow these hydro and there is probably a reason for it..STRETCH!
The SFV is known for stretch and weaker stems but the smoke is out of this world so we put up with her faults....LOL..

i woud say run her hard higher nutes more calmag. then supercropp (pinch the stems and stalks to help reduce the stretch) right iinto flower. you will need to do this a few times during the stretch it will not only promote more side branching increasing yeild but will also control the stretch...

Yes, topping and proper training techniques are the best way to run any of the Chem lines, including OG. Swerve has it right, I like using SuperThrive and vermiT, and utilizing FIM techniques as well as physical training i.e. staking or bending of plants. OGs tend to yield better using the supercrop techniques as well, where you bend the stem all the way over, producing a joint in the stem that eventually heals and swells. The new growth tends to be extremely vigorous and hearty, producing more tops that fill out, and "tricking" them into thinking they are all main colas.
