DC and Hyrbids
Been quite a full summer around here, and I've been struggling just to get the updates made on my own garden thread in the outdoor forum.... Well I finally made some time to post some of whats been going on around here....
Out of 7 Deep Chunk plants, 3 have made it through the season. All are male, most likely because of bad site selection... They got plenty of sun, but the soil got very saturated this spring because its in sort of a low spot, and we had record rains this year.... One plot of 3 got suffoccated roots and just died.... The other 3 that were in a plot not far away were stunted in growth and were all male... This tells me they didn't like the site, but you can't be for sure... Will be able to use the same area in the future, its worth planting in most seasons... May have to move them around a bit though for the future... The males are now chopped, and having their foliage smoke tested...  Not bad for just leaves! Very refreshing smoke.... The stamen have been collected and within a couple hours, they were spread around the gardens of female plants... Most stamen were stuck in upper fan leaves to help achieve full pollination.... The small bits were stuck on cockelbur seeds... Not a puff of pollen goes to waste....  Strains/hybrids which were pollinated: Erocket x Danish passion Chunky Micks 07 --(polyhybrid mixed seed using a SAGE x Deep chunk male, and several DC hybrid females; Blowfish chunk, Cheese chunk, Bubba kush x dc, and ecsd x DC) BOG Medely x SAGE chunk K-sider x (Mazar x (Lowrider x mazar) F3) DC x (Erocket x Danish passion) B3/N7 x erdpurt Apollo 11 x Erdpurt Early Durban Danish passion Night hail ultra Perun Photos? Sure.... Almost time for a trip out to the gardens... Stay tuned for an update...  Night hail ultra with DC stamen  Erocket X Danish passion        DC x (erocket x Danish passion)  Perun pollination  staminate Deep Chunk leaf and his little-while-friend....

Thanks Bub, I can't wait to see the yield of healthy seed we bring in this year! I know one of the erocket x danish passions had a cola the size and length of my arm!
 I already know my girl and I are going to turn hunchback from all the seed picking, but it'll surely be well worth it.... Thanks for the contribution, esbe! Is the tall, conifer shaped plant by the greenhouse a staminate dc x erocket/dp? Very different structure and foliage texture from the one beside it...

We've had some wet and windy weather these past few days, and mold has begun to put on some pressure... A few moldy flowers have been cut out, plants have been staked and restaked!
After a day or 2 of warm sun to dry them out, the most mature plants will be harvested... K sider    Erocket x DP     BOG Medely x SAGE Chunk
