No they didn't but I added about 15 ml to a 55 liter tank and I got lots of bubbles. One of the natural ingredients in it is stuff found in soap which makes bubbles. It didn't do anything bad to the roots but since then I've just used it on the leafs.

I don't see any harm in giving HB 101 a try wherever you may be. Having said that, I didn't. Partly because of the cost, mostly because my plants were doing just fine without it.
