What MAGUS strain should I pick?

Well everyone,

Thanks for checking this thread out and giving me your advice.
My question for you is... What MAGUS strain would you grow and why?
My friend has offered me some of his plants, and I'd like to try some
of the gear out, but I have no idea which one's are best...

I've heard great things about all of them, but I want to know based
on your personal experiences which strain you preffered and why?

Thanks! Peace and Respect!!!

I've just started Warlock so I don't have any true experience with it, but I picked it up because of some of the claims I've heard about it's insane potency.

Kind of depends on what you like GP. MG has a good variety of Award Winning strains to choose from. Give us some details on what you looking for.

Cheers!

well I dont know if you should expect insane potency, what I am looking forward to with the Warlock is an "up" sativa like high from an indica size plant. And the type of smell it has I think is what I am looking for. Got 9 fem Warlocks going at the moment, nothing to look at yet really. got 10/10 to pop, but 1 didnt break the soil surface. Will be posting up a thread on this soon.

grapepunched not speaking from experience, but I think you should run the Warlock too so we can do a grow-off. I just started so you should get a move on. By the way, check out ***** forum, in the Magus test forum there is a really good thread from a guy who just ran the fem Warlock and there are some pretty impressive pics in that thread IMO.

good luck, Ez

Wunderkind: Thanks for the kind words, I've also heard many good things about Warlock, so I might try that one out, let me know how yours go regardless!

Mosca: Well as far as what I like is concerned, I'm really just trying these out because my friend likes all of his strains (he has the whole MAGUS collection), and he keeps teling me that he thinks I'd be impressed by the genetics, and I've never smoked or seen any MAGUS genes in real life, so I figured I can't go wrong. I love both sativas and indicas and I was hoping to try the Double Dutch after I got your cross of DDxHP, but none of my 5 seeds germinated so I guess it wasn't meant to be (but THANK YOU so much for donating them!). How many selections does MAGUS have? I know of Warlock, Double Dutch, Exile, Biddy's Sister, and Motavation. I'd be looking for the tastiest or most potent selection I suppose. Some people have suggested the Warlock so far, but what are all of the strains like? Anyone tried them all?

Ezra: Thanks for dropping in, you're welcome anytime!!! Maybe the Warlock will do it for me, but I want to hear about some of their others, particularly some of the ones less known. Maybe I'll pick the one no one has grown out online and do that, or the one with the least info available as Warlock has been grown tried and true.

Please give me some details on what you liked about the strain you tried.
Maybe some things you didn't like so much too... yield? taste? bud to leaf ratio?

Much love and thanks~

brainlab will become famous soon enough
I can only tell you why i like the dd ...

Very uniform plant with short nodes, easy to grow even though they are a bit sensetive to ph/nutrients(imo). Very good yeilds. And a very plesant smell to it of flower/fruit/gasoline.

50/50 body/mind high and long lasting. And indeed some strong herb.
A great strain for both beginers and experts, i also have some of magus other strains ... but they will get their time later on =)

Good luck to you wich ever strain you choose.

Mosca, I tried to give you positive reputation, but I think I hit a button on my keyboard that closed the window or something, so check and make sure I left a positive! It said I posted rep to your post, also, my message got cut off, but it would have finished like:

Mosca you are a great member here at IC, thanks for contributing so much here, you are a good friend!

Thanks GP! Appreciate your positive Vibes. Yes, I did see you positive comments on this thread.

The reason I LOVE Gerrit's gear is that he is the REAL DEAL. He knows how to breed, breeds exactly for what he is looking for, and will only release a new strain once it is stable and tested! Not to mention not riding the "Fad" or fashionable train like so many breeders do in the seed biz.

My all time favorite smoke is 2+ year old "Aged" Motavation. I accidently stored some away after winning the 2005 IC Cup Indica Growers Cup and recently found this treasure that was completely sealed and smells like a Fine Vintage Wine(Herb).

I think you can tell a lot about a strain by how it keeps after a period of time(Aging). Maybe we should start a thread discussing the different aged strains and their fine aspect. I have never seen read a discussion on this subject... Thoughts?

mosca - I know what you mean, I have aged herb for 2+ years before and its for sure a wonderful thing, with the right strain in particular. The smell seems to evolve and deepen, and the smoke is smoother and more tasty. That must have been a nice surprise to find that jar of Mota, got any pics of that stuff?

grapepunched - I have some limited experience with the Biddy's Sister if your interested, not sure if youve read this in that other thread. My bro grew 1 small plant on his balcony in a small pot. Soil grown organic, and it was his first ever grow. He is not what you would call a green thumb either, he tend to kill houseplants and such. Anyway, it budded real well and I can see how it would yield well as a larger plant. Te small in flower was very nice, quite strong. It was sort of a dank spicy skuky type of smell I liked it a lot. This plant had large trichome heads on short stalks. Unfortunately, the smell mellowed out at the end particularly during the flush period, and maybe due to the drying technique as well. The final product is mild in smell on this plant and was a bit of a let down after the nice smell it had in flower, but I think this is not representative of the strain. Nevertheless, the taste of the herb is very nice. Its smooth with a nice "mouth feel" you can feel the taste on your lips and tounge, and it has good expansion in the chest which makes you think, this is strong shit, and it is quite potent. very nice effect, its a balanced high with a fair bit of head element to it. I liked this strain for outdoor, hopefully we can get some more going next season.
