3 1000w could cover 8x8 but i would go with 6 600w. If your grow room is truly 8x8, you would probably be best by going with 4 1000w if you can handle the heat.

The electric co. won't do anything aslong as you pay your bill and they don't get complaints of smell or traffic from the house. The police have to get so many complaints before they can get a search warrant to examine your bill. I have heard ppl in here say they have had $500 bills in FL so may depend on where you live. Obviously you should have a higher bill in you live in south and have more of a tendency to have a/c on. Hope that helps and 3 1k's imo should be more then enough if proper cooled. Good luck Jubei

I just bought a switchable 1000W system, and the co. guaranteed it was good for 10-20 plants, or an 8X8 room.

So what is best? Do more lights make the plants grow even better? My setup was cheap ($265 +S&H) - do I need another of the same, just to make sure I`m giving my grow the very best?

And at such high wattage, will my breakers carry it, or does it need special wiring?

u need a 15 amp breaker for each 1000watter, they draw 9.5 on a 120v ciruit and like 4.5 amp on a 220 circuit.

Hold the phone! before anyone thinks wattage is the answer to your dreams, consider the "complete" system the plants need to thrive. You do need light, but you must balance all needs, the roots will need respiration with very good air exchange, or they won't take up nutes, a healthy root system is mandatory to good yeilds. The rez temps and aeration system should match the rest. The room should also have co2 in ample supply or the photosynthesis will stop no matter how much light you have! I see far too many folks adding more light without bothering with the other "essential not optional elements." Consider your own diet, would you do your best with only one thing in abundance? You'll be better served to get the whole grow in balance than to only do one. If you have this you will see centerfold results!! In a room of 64 sq feet 50 watts is good (3200) and more is better if you have the rest in tune! jmtc!
