2 Kryptonite OG Kush - 420 Gift from Captain Crip, Swerwe & God
Hi all of you drooling Krypto fans!!! ...I have no experience with cali-kushes except from The Grey Areas weed menu and growing out some Reservoir Seeds - Petrol (ecsd-bx1,5 IX) I did not know anything about what I was up to, but I start getting the idea as the first week in 12/12 is over... THE STORY SO FAR
I received a packet of beans right as I was splitting from the 420-party this year. Finally got to drop 4 beans in water then jiffy pellets sometime around mid-June. Only 3 did finally sprout, due to me cooking the germinating seeds a bit, but I ended up with 2 strong (smelling) girls, of pretty much the same appearance. Sad to report that I didn't shoot any pictures in the germinating and vegetative stage. THis was partly because this ain't too interesting as almost any Cannabis plant look very much the same then...-but also because I didn't find my digi-cam at the moment. During this 5-6week long period I transplanted from cups to 1 liters and later into 3 liters where they'll finish off if they don't bloom for more than 2 months... (Any tips on the flowering period Captain?!?) They where a bit slow in the first weeks, but a soon as a good little lump of roots was established they took off strongly and vigorously. PS! I did put both plants under a sort of LST/Supercropping in veg where I squeezed/crushed the stems and bent them to help them branch out more and stay shorther. It helped a bit on early branching (although with large pots and halides for vegging I believe the structure would have been branchy enough anyway.) Some shadow leafs will also be pruned and I aim to have 3-4 branches on each plant ********** INDUCED FLOWERING - Week: 1 (day 1) OGK #1 (plant no.1) -No 1 is slightly shorter/wider, and with longer, more protruding branches. (Height approx. 45cm) OGK #2 (plant no.2) -No. 2 is more of a SOG style plant where the branches are sort and prefer to grow tightly crammed along the main stalk. (Height approx. 51cm) Both these kushes are the most pungent pre-blooming plants I ever encountered...-oddly enough the third plant (male) do not have such strong odor, and it is rather fresh and onion like with some citrus infused. ********** PRODUCTIVE FLOWERING - Week 3 (Day 20) Until this point the bloom phase has been really uneventful, (Although I had 2 nights where the door got closed very late). The pots are tiny 3 liters and respectively need watering daily with maybe one resting day in the week. I give pure tap-water once to twice per week, and whenever I let the pots get on the drier side. In addition I usually give diluted tea or fertilizer, or at least wet down the medium quite well before fert'ing it) -Apart from 2 weak doses with Iguana Juice Bloom, the plants have received only my pre-blooming tea and tap-water. My actively aerated tea (AAT) is basically brewed with water and molasses and EWC/Cow-compost/Kelp/Rock-dust/Guano/Fish-meal/Soybean-meal. OGK #1 & #2 (@ 16 and 20 days) OGK #2 (Budsites close-up) ********** PRODUCTIVE FLOWERING - Week 4 (Day 28) OGK #1 & OGK #2 ********** PRODUCTIVE FLOWERING - Week 6 to 7 (Day 45) The more sensitive OGK #1 has been flushed and given less nutrients than the other since middle of week 4. This was done as a result of slight leaf curling that appeared in week 4. That stopped and full vigorous flowering was re-established within a short week of noticing the curling... OGK #2 & OGK #1 As you can clearly see this is a very resinous strain and practically one of tightest crystal covered lines I've ever encountered. It also has a seriously sweet citrus scent, but it is all veiled in a sticky and pungent pot stench. (odor control MUST be cleverly utilized!!!) OGK Close Up -I'd also like to point out that the productivity of these plant seem to be just fine. I have been keeping them in the dullest outskirts of the tent, in tiny pots of cheap general purpose potting soil, and given them merely iguana juice and tea (with 3-4 high p and k applications in mid-flowering and now in week 6.) PS! I am still very amazed with the similarity between these 2 females. (I also have 2 AK47 girls next to these OGK's and those are looking like clones!!! Only seen this in Skunk and Warlock until now.) ********** RIPENING - Week 9 (Day 58) In week seven there were no photos taken, but the period was essentially un-eventful. I basically gave the plants GHE Ripen @ 4ml/liter twice around week seven and eight. The plants had water for two days between applications. The pots was also watered with extra run-off in week eight so both these Kush ladies yellowed out as expected. -The OGK#2 was opening its harvest window after about 55 days of bloom, and it seem to be able of going towards 70 days. (OGK#1 had a slight nutrient challenge in week 3-4 so she is a little bit behind. But this one also show long slender calyxes on more elongated buds than OGK#2, so it might very well be that the sativa heritage is heavier present in her too!!! )OGK #2 ( day 58) ********** RIPENING - Week 10 (Day 64) We are now in the beginning of our 10th week of flowering mode with these lovely kryptonite green ladies... I only got decent shots of the finished OGK #2 this time around, but the OGK #1 is hanging in there and still packs on flowers every day (although she is a little starved right now I reckon she will go towards 75-80days...-with help of a sparsely spread tonic of AN's humic acid and GHE Ripen I bet it is gonna be good enough.) OGK #2 (day 64 - Final Cut) OGK #1 (day 64 - Budlet)

Hey Mr. B.!
I was about to take cuttings, but I've been lazy and I'm not sure they'll make it. (I could always revegetate if impressed.) -Hopefully cuts from the OGK #2 will take, but that is my only hope right now... (And more seeds of course)

As a little update I am proud to sayt that one of my OGK cuttings has finally stroke and is rooting/growing happily in a 5dl cup of organic soil as I type...
The two ladies have barely reached the end of week 4 and are in good shape. (my environment is pretty dry and as I grow in tiny pots I often experience a little curling of budleaves on new or sensitive plants, and this happened to one OGK too. -Personally I think the RH from 20-35% is the main reason for this as some plants tend to act this way no matter what I do.) As I finish this little letter I just wanted to mention that them femmes are really putting out some interesting scents lately... PS! Pictures of development will be added soon.
