Update CJ at Terrapin Station on 9/9/08
Hi Folks,
...well i decided to move 3 of my 4 Casey Jones plants into the flowering room sooner rather than later. My small cabinet can hold up to 9 plants if they are in 1.75 gal square (rose) pots. A little history first: In my cab i had four plants in 5 gal square pots that had started flowering on July 15. I was away on vacation for a few weeks in mid August and my trustworthy friend is not a grower. I had mixed of batches of Nu+ before leaving, but didn't realize that my pH meter was faulty...so my nutes were all too low in pH...combine that with someone who didn't recognize the signs of plant stress...and well you can guess the rest. Two of the four plants were too far gone to save, and the other two got a good flushing (several) and started to recover. I moved one outside, and kept the other in the cab...but yesterday i decided to put both outside to finish and make room for Casey Jones. So here is Casey Jones Day 0 at 12/12 under T5's and CFL's. Casey Jones is on the right front. On the left and back are Satori and Sadhu's clones that went 12/12 on Aug 25th... ...and here are some Casey Jones cuttings just prior to moving the plants into the flowering cab. "A's", "B's", "C's" are Casey Jones, and the "W's" are White Satin. peace, - eyes88 |

...the 4th CJ
...i forgot to mention the 4th CJ. I didn't move this plant into the flowering room because there weren't any branches big enough to take cuttings.
I bent it over (LST) and it's continuing to veg. I'm not sure but it looks like this plant might have balls. It's still vegging (18/6) and is about 6 weeks old...so as soon as i can take a cutting or two i'll move it to 12/12 as well and then we'll know for sure. Has anyone experienced pre-flowering with Casey Jones? peace, - eyes88 |

High eyes
I found my Casey's to show sex at around 6 weeks veg. No branches? Maybe that plant is just a FREAK? Well, we can hope |

Update: CJ's a Terrapin Station 9/22
Here a quick update on the progress of my first Casey Jones grow...
On 9/9 i put 3 of my 4 Casey Jones plants into the flowering chamber. The forth plant was already showing itself to be a male. The plants were from seeds and still a bit immature (not alternating nodes yet), so it took a little time for them to begin flowering, but as of today i can officially say that all three are girls! Here is a picture of my small (under-the-stairs) cabinet. It will hold a maximum of 9 plants in 1.75 gal square pots, and there are 8 plants in there now. The smaller (younger) plants in front are Casey Jones. As you can see i'm flowering using T5's...this is because the height of my cabinet is 41 inches...and HPS just won't work in this space....so it's T5's CFL's and UVB. Before moving the plants to 12/12, i took two cuttings from each. Here are the clones, having recently been planted. The one with yellowing leaving is a White Satin clone...a strain which has shown itself to be a little more difficult than average to clone... peace, - eyes88 |

Casey Jones flowering under T5's
Well it's been a very busy past few months. Sept until new years is my busiest season at work, so i've barely had any time to read this forum. Now i have time to chill a bit and share some updates:
First of all, my setup: My grow room is under the basement stairs, with a maximum height of 42 inches. As a result i'm using only T5's, CFL's and UVB for both vegging and flowering. I can squeeze 9 plants in 1.75 gallon square pots into the flowering room, and use LST (by hanging weights on the plants to bend them over). Here's a picture of one of my CJ's at 30 days (under T5's). I germinated 4 seeds (one Orient Express dominate male), one sour diesel dominate female, and two CJ females (mix of citus and sour diesel). Here's a picture of the Sour Diesel pheno just before harvest (70 days under T5's). peace, - eyes88 |

Wow, That last picture is really nice. Sure is nice and top heavy. I'm sure your loving that. Very nice setup you got there. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Take care, BG

Casey Jones - trimmed and dried
Hey Now Folks,
Here's a picture of the trimmed and dried buds from one Casey Jones plant grown in soil (FFOF), in 1.75 gal square pot, under T5 & CFL lighting. She was harvested at 70days. I've got two different CJ phenotypes moms. One has very strong sour diesel influence, and the other (pictured here) is more trainwreak like and smells like citrus, pine & diesel fuel....hmmm. Both are wonderful and i couldn't decide which i liked better, hence kept them both. ...sorry for the blurry photo. I'm a week or two away from another Casey Jones harvest, which means that everything should be cured just right by the time the Dead roll into town... I'll try to get some photos before harvest. peace, - eyes88 |

Update: Casey Jones at day-68
Hi Folks,
Here's a few photos that i took of one of my Casey Jones - Sour Diesel Phenotype at day-68. This is my 3rd CJ grow and by the time these girls are ready to harvest, they cannot hold up the weight of buds they are producing without help. ![]() peace, - eyes88 |
