Chilli plants under lamps

Does anyone know much about growing chilli's indoors? I've got a bit of space in my cab and a chilli plant that was getting battered by the winter outside so I was just wondering what sort of light cycles it would like.
Hopefully just the same as weed, vegging for a few more weeks at 18/6 then going to 12/12.
Hopefully I'll get some spicy chillis with my sticky buds

Hi FarmerGreen, I recently started some peppers, toms and eggplant under a 400watt HPS lamp 12/12 light cycle and they all started fine, I kept them in there for a month! Their doing great outdoors now!

Just don't overwater em, say once every 3-4 days and they'll do just fine!!!

Goodluck with them chilies!!! Don

Ive never grown Chili's indoors, but have tons right now in my garden outside...Im growing, Serrano, Jalapeno, Hungarian Wax, Cayenne, Anaheim, Habanero and a few mixed peppers...

Like Wally said, they difinitely do seem to enjoy a lot of fresh air...I had a few young ones in a place where they barely got any breeze and a few took a turn for the worse

Im sure they can grow fine indoors, as they don't really seem to need much outdoors...They require a LOT less attention than my tomatoes

Peppers are not sensitive to photoperiod. The average temperature determines whether or not fruit sets.

They also don't like very much N at all, but do appreciate P and Mg.

So I thought I'd make this little chilli experiment a diary of sorts. It may freak out and die or it might get run over by big sticky colas, but thats probably not a bad thing.

I wont give it a hell of a lot of special treatment just give it what the girls are getting and see what happens.

I should have taken a photo before it went in, but after 24hrs inside, it doesn't really look any different.

Also, I don't know how good I'll be at keeping a diary. Might start to wane as I lose excitement factor

I've found if they begin to slip into dormancy they are hard to bring back out - I'm guessing heat is the problem, as mentioned above, to get the new growth flush.

I've grown chillies and capsicum indoors in both pots and aquaponics. The plants will grow as big as you let them in the right conditions. It is not uncommon in the islands of samoa to have virtually perpetual chilli production off plants that are used as 6 ft hedging.

I had a very sick chilli recently. I sprayed it with lacto bacillus culture and it is much better now. The recipe for this type of thing can be found in organics forum.

You can prune and train chillies and peppers, they prefer it in spring, but anytime if the risk of mold isn't too great, I'm really enjoying training them now (some) chillies get a bit sprawly at times.

Anyone have any idea what temps they like to get them stimulated? I've grown plenty outside myself, but really didnt pay them any attention, they just grew huge and gave me lots of chillis!
It's winter here at the moment and this little one had been sitting outside in about 51 degress, with lots of rain- and not really growing. Inside my cab its averaging about 73 degrees, fairly decent breeze, and always sunny! So far, nothings really happened to it, hence no new pics.

Maxibloom at 1 tsp (~ 7 grams) per gal is the same as this mix at 1 gal.
---------------------------------------------------
Only use about 10 ml of Florabloom and 5 ml of Floramicro per gallon. Without a conductivity meter

The best media take in water fast and give it back fast, creating more air space as they do so.
