Dealing with the munchies...

Well, i'm currently on a diet plan, low carb. I would also liek to make it low cal and low fat, but i'm a bit of a munchoholic. In my home enviroment, the activities of eating and smoking have become entwined, inseparably so. It's gotten to the point where i can't eat without smoking. this is mostly due to the fact that i have digestive problems and the weed helps me, but alas, it has had a pavlovian effect.

No matter how full i am, the moment a whiff of weed hits me, i'm famished once more. I've taken to eating low calorie food stuffs in large quantities to cork my stomach. For example, cans of sauerkraut and other fibrous, non-calorious or carb laden, but i bet this will get old rather quickly.

So, fellow overgrowers, any help with this dilemma?

Eat shit high in protein but relatively low in everything else.

Peanut butter, nuts, semi dry sandwiches, etc.

You get the drift.... try to find something that will actualy fill up your stomach with proteins, as teh carbs will digest much quicker than the protein and you'll be hungrier than you were before, very soon.

Fight off those munchies with a glass of water. Today most peoples hunger response is so fucked up that their brains cant tell the difference between hunger and thirst due to the amount of high calorie beverages most of us drink. Next time you get a serious case of the munchies try downing a glass of good old H2O, and see if the hunger resides. You may, after all just be very thirsty and your brain is telling your hungry. Ive been using this method for the past month and a half and ive lost almost 10#

i find fruits and stuff that are juicy good because im usually dry after toking. watermelon, canaloupe, cherries, strawberries etc. veggies such as cucumber too, put on a bit of salt maybe. carrots if you get some nice tender ones. its still got some calories but it beats what most people stuff in and all the soluble and plant fiber are really good for you

fuck the diet ... just eat eat eat....

If you want to fill up and minimise the intake of crap just have the right stuff around. i.e a few slices of rye /low GI bread is like eating chip board and it will fill you up quick.

to be honest though.. START TRAINING... once you get into a good 4x a week cardio routine with some weight training you can afford to be far less strict. Just remember , dieting is not the solution, you have to change your eating habits!

Dude
I am always ready to eat, and you would never guess by looking at me, but if I am in the munchie mood, and I am disgusted by myself for eating a whole large bag of chips in about 10 minutes( without breathing) I pull out some rice cakes, and spread some jam or peanut butter on them, not as bad as it sounds.
Jello is nice too, but not so nice when it is crunchy, and I am more of a crunchy craver, when I have the munchies.

well, i'm doing a combination of low fat/low carb/low calorie, trying to maintain fat ocntent bellow 25 per meal cause i'm taking alli. i know it says 15, but i am still doing it for it's benefit, because wheather i get the uncontrollable runs or not, it's working. i'm staying home for a few days because of no money for gas, so i'll be doing that.

I haven't gotten the runs yet, but i have also been eating a LOT of fiber in the form of lettuce and sauerkraut. that may be holding my shit together, haha. this all started as a low carb diet, atkins style, it's formed into something a little more healthy(lower calories and fat) because we are all prone to misconduct, and i'd rather not have lethal effects from breaking a high fat diet.

right now i'm walking every day for at least half an hour, slowly building up my muscle memory( i used to be just as fat but a lot stronger last year because of my job) and trying to do as much cardio in every day life as i can, walking the extra distance in the parking lot and walking my dog a couple times a day.

i'm willing to do any other type of excercise that i do not need special equipment for, at least expensive equipment, for now, until i lose some weight and gain enough confidence to go to a gym(and also know i ain't quitting this time).

any suggestions as to those excercises?

also, any suggestions on nearly no cal vegies like sauerkraut and lettuce and celery?

if i wasn't afraid of it, i'd even do injections, but that's messed up. but legal and safe pills you might suggest, i also have a script for aderral i COULD take to raise metabolism and curb apetite. If i do that i am aware i should still eat small periodic meals to maintain a burning of energy.

i am really tired of being fat... i ain't gonna be the next biggie...
