Indoor/Outdoor Aurora B. (SuperSkunk)

I have 4 confirmed Aurora B females, and I am waiting on 2 more unknowns. They are about 40-50 days above the ground. I had them in 4" pots of soil/coco/castings until they sexed, the females are going into 6" pots with guano/plant success/plant-tone/compost. I cut 1 male, as he was scrappy, and I may use 1 of the unknowns if I get a male. I started sexing them at about 4 weeks by putting them in the dark for 13-14 hrs per night. Once they started growing pre-flowers, I took them out of the box. They will sex without going full blown.

I will be running the seedplants outside @ ~41 deg N. I am taking cuts of the 2 most vigorous females 2moro. I am looking for a quick yielder to replace a plant that I am running out (cannaloupe). I am also curious to see the differences between these and the MrN Shit that I have. So far, the Aurora B's are more sativa dom, taller with thinner leaves. Strange, but the wider-leafed plants also seem to be a lil branchier, as a few of them look like hell, all tall and scrappy....

I have looked around, and only seen a few grows of this strain, so I figgured that I'd post mine. I will get pics up 2moro. I had to snap and snip them to keep em low on my deck, so they look kinda shitty now, but I expect them to get nice and big once I get em in the ground. The plan is to get them out in the next 3 days or so.

Anyone with any advice or experience with this or other SuperSkunks is welcome to post knowledge, pics, questions, whatever. I figgure that the combination of Skunk and NL is the beginning of the indoor breeding revolution, so I may end up with some dank, old-skewl herbs!

EDIT - I just realized that I have 1 more that I have not been sexing, so I have 3 unknowns.

Hi jack. Yes, Aurora B is from TFD. It is said to be Skunk #1 x Northern Lights. I don't know who is the daddy/mommy. There is a thread with good pics and a couple of positive reviews in a thread called (oddly enough) "Aurora B" on pg 2 of the Flying Dutchmen forum here @icmag.

I got 11 seeds in the pack, all looked good, none crushed or immature. I germed them all at once, and got 9 to pop. I killed 1 when it was small (wind blew it over and it didn't recover), and yesterday I cut a male. I think that of the last 2 I have been sexing, I have 1 male and 1 female. I still have 1 that is just chillin in the sun, I will probably clone for sex this week or next.

Here are some pix. The dog chewed off a few fans, but not after I hit them with the deer stopper.....

The plants in the white pots are the confirmed fem's, the ones in the blue box are sexing (1 suspected female), and the plant in the round black pot to the right of the white ones is the 'au natural' jobber.

Hiccup.

I had a lil hiccup, and had to ditch the males and unknown plants. The girls went out before I could take cuts. I have 2 off by themeslves, and 2 with the group. I got some pics of the 2 nearby, and I'll be going back for cuts in a week or so. This spot gets more shade than I thought, but the plants have very different leaf structure, so maybe I can use these plants to feed the flower room....

Anyway, I will be going out to the main spot this week some time, and I'll take and post pix when I do. If the plants haven't been eaten, the other spot should be looking NICE.

Aurora around the corna

~41 deg. Like I said, the spot was chosen in a RUSH, and there is less sun than I thought there, so I may be takin some cuts when they start to flower. The 'other' spot is the JAM. I just can't visit as often. I am expecting 8+/per plant at the other spot if they don't get ripped/eaten. The aurora may well be my head smoke for the winter....

EDIT - I am getting really tired of sending incriminating pix out there to no where..... IC needs to either fix the problem, or disable uploads completely until they do.....

EDIT AGAIN....

The peeps deserve pix!!

1 of the 2 on the right is an aurora b. This spot (as of 7-10) got FULL sun from ~8am - 6pm. I shouldn't lose any time due to anything on the southern skyline, either. Both plots are very close together

I am 95+% sure that the plant @ 12oclock in this pic is the champ Aurora. Vigorus, stinky, and got the SWEET SPOT. I am going to have to get in there next week, and space these plants (supercropp, break n steak, bondage, maybe move some of the younger plants..) better. I was expecting losses from deer, slugs, and diggers, as they hit the other plants at this spot kinda hard. I didn't have a fence, or the time to put it up, and just prayed for the best with some spray and slug pelletts... I hope they look ok this wk..

Do a rain dance...

Went for a visit to the ladies today...

The plant on the right is deffo more sativa dominant, as she is taller and had more slender leaves. Neither really has much of a distinguishing smell at this point. They did get large, despite the *ahem* partial-sun. We'll see in October...

EDIT - Post 666. Boo.

Went to see the ladies today. They were a disappointment after going to the money makers, but hey, 2-3zips per may still happen. They are ~3-4', and semi bushy, ~3-4 mains per. They have just started flowering. I'm calling TODAY the beginning of week 2, as I saw the other auroras starting last wk (in the other spots). 8wks is 10/17, 9wks is 10/24. We'll see..

They have morphed into identical plants. It will be interesting to compare the smoke.

Left plant

Right plant

Monster budshot.

I would have thought that a super skunk would finish a lil earlier for me. She is in a spot with direct sun from 11-3ish, but pretty much full shade before/after. (not dark, but in the woods....)

Hi man, i wish you good luck with aurora borealis, it was my best producer last year outdoor.
I've grown them at lat.44 in france, and i got 3 beautiful females who gave me around 700 g all together( 300g,250g,150g). The smaller was funny because she had very small leaves since her born and gave small buds but more tastier and frostier than the bigger. The bigger were also very good and potent smoke it was a great surprise lest year as i didn't expect so good yield and potency from this strain outdoor. And she is a fast finisher for sure they start to flower at 10-15 august and were rippeed at 4-8 october, with 20% amber trichs and 80% cloudy.
The same grow i had super skunk as well from sensi and they performed very well but gave less yield, around 130g by female average (some bigger some smaller) but i had avery good female ratio as i had 9 girls from 13 seedlings. The finish product was of very good quality and potency, no worries during all seasons with this strain outdoor, but they didnt produced as much as expected individualy because of bad weather during grow period who slow them down.
This 2 strains performed very well for me outdoor but i gave them extra-care as they've grown in a private garden not in guerille style grow. Ans the soil for her have been prepared many months before they were transplanted in the ground with slow ferts.
Last point but not the least, they had the sun direct upon her all the time from very early the morning until the end of the day. Very good south exposition with both side east and west clear of tree or anything who could have make shadow. This is the most important when you grow outdoor, have the maximum sun-light all day long.

Thanks for stoppin in, kro. The 2 plants starring here get shitty light. prob only 3-4 direct hrs a day. Maybe they get some direct in the morning, but for 1hr at most, and VERY early, when the sun is weak. I will be happy with 100g between the 2 plants. The 1's in the patches, I expect 1-200 per plant. They have awesome sun, and have a nice fertile, moist spot. The spot is almost ALL I could ask for in an outdoor plot. Once I pulled the weeds/native plants, I was able to work most of the loamy soil by hand.

If they finished by the 8th for you, they SHOULD be in by the 15th for me. Maybe even a lil sooner due to the shading. That's good to know. I will have more pics of these 2 in the next few weeks, as they are around the corner, and small, so I doubt they'll be found.
